About me

We are Ontario's reproductive and perinatal mental health experts. As moms, we’ve been there- struggling to conceive, unrecognized postpartum anxiety, the desire to do everything “right”, the constant worry about your baby and whether or not what he/she is doing is “normal”, whether or not how you’re feeling is “normal”, how on earth you'll ever get through these years. Talk therapy is a powerful means for change and psychotherapy can help you to find solutions to the issues you are facing. By applying a therapeutic approach customized to you and your life, we will work together to help you gain insight, achieve growth and experience happiness. Although formally trained in many different therapeutic approaches, we create a warm, supportive environment, using approaches that are the best fit for you, with a focus on giving you what you need. We work with women and their partners in all phases of life, with a strong focus on the fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and parenting periods, and have received extensive Maternal Mental Health training and certification from Postpartum Support International in Perinatal Mental Health.

Service introduction

Our approach to working with clients is transparent and authentic, meaning that we share with clients what we are thinking and why. We believe in creating a relationship that builds trust and respect, and in creating a safe environment for our clients to explore the most sensitive and painful areas of their lives. We believe that all people inherently possess the potential for success and happiness. Through our work, we identify our clients’ strengths and abilities and identify how they can harness these to overcome obstacles in their lives. Our goal is to enable individuals to find creative, satisfying and long-lasting solutions to their difficulties. All people are unique, so no one process will work for every client. We draw from various theoretical orientations including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Hypnotherapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Solution-Focused frameworks. We have experience working with a broad range of issues and will draw from these various approaches depending on a client’s particular needs and presenting issues. We are deeply committed to helping clients to develop the tools they need to address their difficulties, to understand themselves more fully, and to live more fulfilling lives. All of our clinicians are either Registered Social Workers or Registered Psychotherapists, and as such, individual, couples and group therapy may be covered by your extended health insurance plan (benefits). We provide individual and couples therapy.
