About me

✨ Hi friends! I’m Jess (she/her) — a queer birth & postpartum doula based in the Bay Area. I grew up around birth and babies (shoutout to my nurse mom!) and fell in love with supporting new parents early on. After seeing so many of my friends navigate birth and postpartum without the support they deserved and needed, I knew this was the work I was meant to do. I offer care that’s supportive, inclusive, and centered on you—your values, your vision, and your unique journey into parenthood. If you’re pregnant, postpartum, or just dreaming about building your family someday, I’d love to support you. 💛

We were so lucky to connect with Jess through the Birth Companions when looking for doulas in our area who worked with our insurance. After our initial call with Jess, we felt energized and educated and grateful she had availability to work with us. Our early sessions were so informative. Jess made sure to answer all our questions and also prompted helpful reflection and discussion about birth planning that we hadn't yet considered. She previewed for us what the labor process might include and simultaneously assured us that she would be there to help navigate the hospital since you can't plan for everything. She gave us videos and literature, so we felt all the information we accessible and evidence based. When I went into labor, Jess was there at the wee hours of the morning and cheered me on the whole time. She helped with communication and advocacy (I wanted an unmedicated labor), supported my partner to participate (he caught the baby), and stayed with us as we got cleaned up and settles in postpartum. As first time parents, her calm confidence and converation was such a gift! I wholeheartedly hope every birthing parent gets a champion like Jess (or better yet...Jess!!) with them as they navigate the exhausting and amazing process of welcoming a baby.

My partner and I are so grateful that everything worked out with Jess' availability after we had our initial conversation with her. She took the time to get to know us beyond our pregnancy needs, and we felt seen by her. Jess provided services for prenatal sessions, lead us through creating a birth plan, was present for all of the labor in the hospital, the birth, and post partum sessions. Jess has been incredibly supportive throughout the entire process and has a wealth of knowledge around birth and babies. Jess is also one that is reliable. She followed through on all apointments scheduled. We we called her at 4am to let her know we were going to the hospital the day of the birth and she arrived at the same time we did that morning! There's so much to be thankful for about Jess but something that I will never forget is the way that she helped my partner during the the time of labor and when it was time to "push" in the hospital. She continued to motivate my partner, coached her through calming strategies, provided massaging, and even just provided her hand so that it could be squeezed. Also, Jess advocated for what was discussed during the prenatal sessions with the healthcare team. We are forever thankful Jess. 🙏 If anyone is reading this and looking for a doula, I highly recommend having an initial call with her. Her kind personality, professionalism and knowledge was present during every interaction we had with her.
