We’re first-time parents expecting our baby in early December (due Dec 3) and looking for an overnight postpartum doula or night nanny, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM, to help us rest and find our footing in the first week after birth! We're temporarily in Davis, CA (we typically live very rural and there are no birthing hopitals around) - we'll be here until about a week after our baby is born, so want support for the first few days after birth, or even that full week. What a night might look like 10:00 PM - You arrive, check in with us, go over baby’s day, and make a plan for the night. 10:00 PM - 12:00 AM - While baby is settled, you help get the home ready for the next day: washing bottles, sterilizing pump parts, folding baby laundry, prepping breakfast, refilling water bottles, and organizing baby supplies. Throughout the night - When baby wakes, you provide responsive care based on our feeding preferences. That may include diaper changes, soothing, bottle prep, bringing baby to me for breastfeeding, burping, swaddling, and helping baby settle back to sleep. 6:00 AM - Before you leave, you set us up for the day: clean bottles, folded laundry, stocked diaper stations, overnight notes, and a calm, organized home. What we’re looking for: Experience with newborns and overnight care Infant CPR certified Knowledge of safe sleep practices Comfortable supporting a breastfeeding parent References available Flexibility around a due date rather than a fixed start Rate: $30 - $45/hour, depending on experience and certifications If this sounds like a fit, please reach out with your experience, availability for December, and your rate!
