I had the pleasure of having Julie Ann in my Foundations of Child Development course here at Rasmussen College. I can without a doubt say that Julie Ann has been an outstanding student and contributor to the class. Throughout the course, Julie Ann’s work has been outstanding. In her assignments, she went above and beyond the expectations, showing initiative and excellence. She has an excellent grasp of child development. During the quarter, the students have an opportunity to answer questions in a discussion forum. Again, Julie Ann went above and beyond the expectations by researching the topic thoroughly. Many students read her posts and responded to them. Julie Ann’s posts in return were thoughtful and supportive. Often asking questions that would further the on-line discussion. She is deeply committed to supporting women after the birth of their baby. She met with me in-person prior to the arrival of our baby, to assist us with the necessities for our baby’s nursery. It was so great as we don’t have family close by, so she really helped to put us at ease and gave input with and helped us out so so much! As my postpartum doula, where do I start? Julie Ann was such a calming presence in our home, she rose to the occasion and helped with whatever my needs happened to be for that particular night. She was comfortable and willing to assist. She was a self-starter which was amazing. She helped me with my breastfeeding issues/concerns, offered me resources in terms of a lactation consultant she highly recommended. And she gave us space and was mindful to meet us where we were at. No judgment whatsoever, and offers advice gently and I knew I could rely on her. Julie Ann was a blessing to our family. I am honestly not sure how would have ever handled everything without her. Every woman needs a doula, whether this is her first baby or second or sixth baby. But it is a lucky woman who is able to have a doula as skilled, experienced, loving and patient and oh so amazing as Julie Ann.

I am writing to highly recommend Julie Ann Bergeson, who worked as a night nurse for my family during the summer of 2021. Julie Ann was an absolute blessing during a challenging time in my life. I was struggling with sleep deprivation and postpartum depression, and her calm, nurturing presence provided the support I needed. Julie Ann was incredibly kind and attentive, always going above and beyond without even asking me. She left detailed notes after each shift, documenting my son’s nighttime feeds, diaper changes, and any other pertinent details. She also offered light cooking and cleaning, even though it wasn’t part of her role, which helped ease the load for me. She brought a lot of peace of mind and looked me to get the rest I needed and also offered a comforting shoulder for me to talk to and confide in. Her maternal instincts and gentle approach were exactly what I needed. I feel completely comfortable trusting her with the overnight care of my son, and I looked forward to her shifts because I knew my child was in excellent hands. I wholeheartedly recommend Julie Ann to anyone in need of a night nurse. She is thoughtful, compassionate, and truly dedicated to her work. I wish I could give a better review, but unfortunately, she canceled on us for her only two scheduled shifts at the last minute. She mentioned a family emergency for the first cancellation and a car accident for the second. While I understand that unexpected situations arise, the cancellations impacted our plans, and reliability was a major concern.
