I’m Sara Vidal, a certified birth doula located in Carroll County, Maryland. As a child, I was fascinated by mom’s positive stories of her varied birth experiences. Later, during my first pregnancy, I learned to access my inner calm and strength through the journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. After teaching for nearly a decade, I felt called to combine my academic expertise with my passion for birth by completing my doula certification through HypnoActive Birth created by Lauralyn Curtis Kohl. I’m also continuing my education, currently working toward my childbirth educator certification. Supporting families through the transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is an honor. While the journey is unpredictable, I believe you can create flexible dreams for each. I’m committed to holding sacred space for you–helping you imagine and realize your dreams and empowering you to find your inner calm and power. I offer emotional, physical, and informational support so you feel confident, informed, and safe in your birth and postpartum choices. Outside of birth work, I enjoy spending time in nature with my family, reading, listening to indie music, baking, and crafting. As you navigate your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey, I’ll be there so you feel held throughout. I’d love to hear more about your birth and postpartum dreams and how I can support you. Hi! I’m Kate. A mama of 3 and a birth doula! I’m from Baltimore MD and work with families doing hospital or home birth!

Recent review

I had the pleasure of working with Kate and her mother Margie during the labor and delivery of my daughter. Kate was my Doula and her mother was my birth photographer. They make one amazing duo! I had planned on a home water birth and unfortunately after 30 hours of unmedicated labor at home it turned into a hospital transfer and then an emergency cesarian surgery. Kate and her mother stayed in contact with me throughout the day when I knew I was in early labor and then got to my home promptly after she received the call that things were quickly progressing. Kate was so knowledgeable on different comfort measures for me during my labor. She was compassionate and extremely supportive during the whole entire experience! She even sent me a lot of information prior to my daughters arrival regarding helpful tips, body positioning and things I could do prior to early labor and through out to help me during every stage. Her mother is so kind, empathetic and takes beautiful pictures! I will cherish the moments she captured for our family forever. Margie even came to the hospital with us and stayed at the hospital not knowing if she would or would not be able to come back in to our room in order to take pictures after my surgery. I could not recommend hiring them more! Thank you both so much for being a part of my birth journey! XX- Alisha Rutherford

My name is Nia Rose, I am a WHOLElistic doula where I take into consideration the whole (spiritual, mental, physical and emotional) aspect of pregnancy and birth. My practice evolves around meeting my clients wherever they are at and being alongside them as they journey into parenthood. I love to incorporate what I have learned from previous experiences as I learn and grow along my journey into birth work. I would love to chat with you to determine if we will be a good fit!

I hired Nia Nchami as a doula for the birth of my second daughter in 2022. After an initial conversation via email, she came to our house and really listened to my concerns, fears and hopes for my delivery. She took extensive notes and created a birth plan that truly encapsulated what I wanted for the birth. We stayed in contact for several months and talked more frequently as my due day neared. When the day came, she was a force of nature. She kept me calm and confident. She helped me to navigate the birthing process. But most importantly, advocated for me with my doctors, nurses and healthcare staff to ensure that I received the best care. I can truly say that I had a much better experience giving birth than the first time and Nia was a big reason why. She is extremely professional, but also calm and caring. I’m so glad that I found her!

Hi everyone I’m Ari! (she/they) I'm a Trained Full Spectrum Doula located in Philadelphia, PA. I’m dedicated to providing trauma-informed, client-centered, and affirming care for all. My background in art and passion for research motivate me to offer imaginative, evidence-based birth education and holistic support. To read testimonials from parents who have trusted me to be a part of their experience, follow this link: https://doulamatch.net/profile/34407/ari-eisen. As a birth doula, my focus is on prenatal education that centers physical, emotional, social, and spiritual factors impacting your pregnancy and parenthood journey. I'm here to support your unique vision for your birth experience and serve as your advocate in times of need. I understand that the bodymind is vulnerable and reactive to regimes of oppression. My goal is to uplift the innate beauty and strength of all bodies, with a focus on supporting LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC parents in navigating barriers to just medical care (though I work with parents of all identities). I am sensitive to the institutions and practices that contribute to poor maternal and birth outcomes and I maintain that anti-racism is essential to holistic carework. For years, I've engaged in embodiment practices such as yoga, meditation, and acupuncture to deepen my connection with bodymind intelligence and navigate my own chronic pain journey gracefully. Throughout my various doula trainings, I've upheld my values, which I'm eager to share with you. It would be an honor to be your guide and provide you with compassionate, radically inclusive support.

Ari is a wonderful doula. My husband and I worked with Ari during pregnancy and delivery (at the hospital). Ari was consistently a fantastic partner and coach to both of us. We felt understood, cared for, and supported. From listening to our goals, offering resources, and even providing a reassuring massage, Ari was a source of relief. We also appreciated that she was very knowledgeable but at no point told us what to do or passed judgments on our intentions for pregnancy and delivery. Ari is both calming and confident – the perfect energy to help me deliver our child. I strongly recommend them to any birthing parent or partner!
