Hello everyone, my name is Yajaira (Jay) Vacanti and I'm a Certified Postpartum Doula and Infant Care Specialist located in Omaha, NE. From a young age, I was fascinated by pregnancy, newborns, and children—dreaming of becoming a baby nurse. This led me to pursue a nursing degree, but life took me down a different path in the corporate world, though still within healthcare. Becoming a doula has allowed me to bring my childhood dream to life, blending my passion for nurturing families with my healthcare background.
As the oldest of three, I took on the role of caring for my siblings, and at 16, I began working as a Certified Nurse Aide in a nursing home, where I learned the profound impact of listening, empathy, and companionship. As a mother of six, I have firsthand experience with children of all ages and understand the joys and challenges of raising a family.
I believe that family is life's greatest blessing, but let’s be real, it also comes with its fair share of challenges. Life changes in a big way after the birth of a child, whether it’s the first or third one. Every situation, pregnancy, birth story, baby, and postpartum period is unique. My goal is to ensure families receive the non-judgmental and compassionate support they deserve during these times.
When I'm not caring for my clients, you can find me spending time with my family, reading, at church, or enjoying a good rom-com. I also love exploring new places, grabbing coffee with friends, or indulging in a little shopping spree.
