DOULA Prenatals & Postpartum Fee
This fee puts your due date on my calendar. Once this is paid, I am officially your doula! First prenatal: Focus on education on interventions commonly found in whatever birth setting you’ve chosen. For those planning community birth, a brief education on hospital interventions is provided in case of transfer. This is meant to give you information to process so that you can develop your birth plan. Second prenatal: Fine tune your birth plan together and go through what labor generally looks like. I give you a tour of my doula bag so you are familiar with items that I will have available to you and how I can use them. I teach your other support person(s) how to support you. Postpartum visit: We debrief on your experience. We go over how healing and breastfeeding are going. I bring a frozen homemade meal for your family. All visits sprinkle in education on many other things. Labor mental and physical prep. Pelvic floor, VBAC, diet, exercise, supplements, breastfeeding, and anything else that applies to your individual experience.
DOULA Labor Fee
Applies to the time I spend with you while you’re in labor. This is due at 36w of pregnancy, in order for me to go on call for you. It goes towards paying a backup doula if they are ever needed, an exchange of money that you as the client will not have to handle. **I offer a labor only option for my services. For women who’ve had more than one baby (including VBACs), this is the flat fee. For first time moms, it is this labor fee + first time mom fee. This option is great for last minute clients, women who desire a doula but have a lower budget, and women who already know what they want and just want support! It includes communication via texting and calling as needed around your due date.**
DOULA First Time Mom Fee
First time moms tend to have longer labors, which I love to be a part of every step of the way. In order to do so, this fee helps cover extra expenses like meals for myself and childcare for my family in order for me to stay at your side! This fee applies to all first time moms. If the amount of time that I attend you in labor is 24+ hours. If I am with you for under 24hrs, I will refund you at the postpartum visit.
Midwifery Care
Prenatal care with a home birth midwife is much the same as what you would receive from an OB/Gyn, except much more comfortable and personal.
As a midwife, I am able to perform all standard lab work, ultrasound orders, and assessments. Prenatal care is on the same schedule as an OB office: every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then weekly until delivery. Midwife appointments with me are much more relaxed, taking the time to get to know you as a whole person, not just the clinical assessments.
Home birth is an excellent way to avoid interventions and keep your birth as safe and physiological as possible. When birth unfolds naturally, both mom and baby are less likely to need emergency help. Home birth with me is faith led in God’s design, intervening only when absolutely necessary.
The postpartum period is far more intimate than in the hospital setting. You get undisturbed cuddle time with your baby, only surrounded by the people you want present. As your midwife, I’m able to do all normal postpartum assessments for you and baby, including breastfeeding support. Visits afterward are done at 24 hours, 2 weeks, and 6 weeks.
This is just midwifery care in a nutshell. Please message if you would like a complimentary initial consult to learn more about me as a midwife, and more details on pricing.
Midwife Consult
This is a virtual, as needed consult with me. An opportunity to ask questions, seek out alternative options, and overall just get some support from a midwife!
Ultimately this is not medical advice, however I give you an opportunity to explore the current care you are receiving and how it compares to a more holistic approach like mine.
Appointments can be scheduled by 30min increments, maximum 2hrs for one appointment.
