(No epidural, no pitocin prior to birth). I'm open to breathing gas or other methods, but I'm largely afraid of needles and unsure if I can do an epidural. I'm open to following the flow of my birth and will consider options as necessary.

I'm looking to learn more about what a doula can offer. My initial interest came about from my last birth where I delivered in hospital with an epidural. I journaled right after that experience to document what I liked and didn't like. The biggest thing that I feel like I would need help with in this second birth is being able to labor more flexibly. I didn't like all the cables and wires hooked up to me. I didn't feel like I could walk and move it even go to the bathroom with all the wires. I plan to give birth in a hospital in Kenosha. Estimated budget under $1000 Not sure my birth plan, really open/flexible

physical support to help with recovery, assistance with newborn care, light household duties. 8-16 hours per day, 3-5 times per week.

I am due July 31, 2025 with my second child and plan to give birth at Lake Forest Hospital. We live in Antioch, IL, and are primarily interested in overnight care 3-4 days/week for 8-12 weeks after the baby's birth, and also potentially interested in birth support.
