•Prenatal Support: Providing guidance, education, and emotional support throughout pregnancy to help expectant parents prepare for childbirth. •Birth Planning: Assisting expectant parents in creating personalized birth plans that reflect their preferences and goals for labor and delivery. •Continuous Labor Support: Offering physical, emotional, and informational support during labor and childbirth, whether at home, in a birthing center, or in a hospital setting. •Comfort Measures: Utilizing various techniques such as massage, positioning, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to help manage pain and discomfort during labor. •Advocacy: Acting as an advocate for the birthing person and their partner, ensuring their wishes are respected and facilitating communication with healthcare providers. •Partner Support: Supporting partners in their role during labor and childbirth, providing reassurance, guidance, and assistance as needed. •Postpartum Support: Providing emotional and practical support in the immediate postpartum period, including breastfeeding assistance, newborn care guidance, and processing the birth experience. •Breastfeeding Support: Offering education, encouragement, and assistance with breastfeeding initiation and troubleshooting common breastfeeding challenges. •Referrals and Resources: Connecting clients with additional resources, such as lactation consultants, childbirth classes, mental health support, and other relevant services. •Emotional Support: Offering a compassionate and nonjudgmental presence, listening to concerns, providing reassurance, and offering encouragement throughout the entire childbirth journey.
