Hi I’m Angel Hayes I’m a first time mom and I officially have my baby in April of 2026. Now I currently stay in Houston but came back home to be around my family during my pregnancy. As though I don’t mind giving birth in the hospital, I just don’t trust anyone to give birth to my child with a doula or midwife in the room for extra protection. I am currently searching for a doula and am seeking as much support and guidance as possible during and after my pregnancy. I am due in August, and this will be my second child after a 13-year gap. I’ll be turning 35 this year and have been labeled as “high risk,” which has left me feeling overwhelmed, confused, and honestly terrified. Aside from my age, I have not been given a clear explanation as to why I am considered high risk. My original OB-GYN, who delivered my son, passed away shortly after his birth. Since then, I was assigned to another provider based on availability. Unfortunately, my current doctor no longer delivers babies. He reached out to colleagues on my behalf, but I was denied care and advised to seek a high-risk provider—without being given documentation, clear reasoning, or even a referral to a high-risk OB. I am seeking a doula who is committed to helping me navigate this journey—someone who can assist with locating reliable medical resources, provide support during delivery in a hospital setting. This will be my first baby and birth, with that being said I’m very unsure about a lot of things. That’s one of the main reasons I’d like a doulas help! I’d love help navigating through This journey with someone that is educated and experienced. I wouldn't say I really have a birth plan, I do however know of some things that I think I’d like from some “research” I’ve been doing. I’m also very open to changes in this depending on what the doula thinks/recommends.
