( my due day is mid April ) Since I'm going the private pay and my pregnancy is progressing well, my doctor suggested that I look for a midwife. I’m excited to share that my pregnancy journey has begun! My last menstrual period started on February 3, 2025, which means I’m currently about 5 weeks along. So far, I’ve experienced only a few early signs—mainly just sore breasts—without any nausea or fatigue. I know that every pregnancy is unique, and I’m embracing these early changes with optimism and curiosity. I have an appointment with my doctor this Thursday, where I’ll be discussing my prenatal care and next steps in ensuring a healthy journey for me and my baby. In addition, I’m exploring midwifery options in my area. I value personalized care and am particularly interested in a hospital or birth center setting, as I’m not considering a home birth. My research has led me to some wonderful local resources in the Duncan area, such as the Cowichan Maternity Clinic and the Cowichan Midwifery Collective. I’ve heard excellent things about the supportive, midwife-led care they offer, and I’m eager to connect with a midwife who aligns with my vision for a positive and empowered birth experience. I look forward to embracing every step of this transformative journey, learning more along the way, and building a care team that supports both my needs and my hopes for the future.

I really have no idea of how far i am now. I just estimated it. I don’t think my LMP matches my pregnancy weeks. I’m getting worried and i don’t have family doctor. Thank you.

I am giving birth in Surrey memorial hospital and I can only give 50 dollars per day 😊,it's my budget and I need doula for day only 2 hours in morning and 2 hours for evening .and I want to give birth naturally .

1- I am planning to give birth in a hospital setting, but not at Surrey Memorial. I would prefer a hospital that is supportive of midwifery care and well-equipped for first-time births. I am open to recommendations regarding the best hospital options in the area. 2-I have a valid BC CareCard and am seeking care that is fully covered under the Medical Services Plan (MSP) of British Columbia. At this time, I do not have a separate budget for privately funded services. 3-As this is my first pregnancy, I am aiming for a low-intervention, unmedicated vaginal birth, if possible. My goal is to have a calm and supportive birth experience, with an emphasis on informed decision-making and respectful care. I also plan to breastfeed and would appreciate guidance and support throughout both the prenatal and postpartum periods.

1. Langley memorial hospital 2. Unknown budget(within reason) 3. I had a very traumatic birth with my first, so I am hoping to have supports in place to have in my side during my hospital stay. 4. Breast feeding was very hard with my first, I am hoping for some guidance the second time around for an easier transition. 5. I had to have a c-section after 14hrs of active labour… With a failed epidural after 3 attempts. The epidural was left in, so I wasn’t able to move around which made the pain very intense. I am hoping to have a VBAC this time, but would like someone in my corner to help with the process so my husband can focus on me and not the medical aspects.

I am interested in a midwife who can help me have an at home water birth.
