We are looking for flexible daytime support hours, especially during the initial weeks postpartum, and are open to discussing a schedule that works well for both of us. I am planning to give birth at North Austin Medical Center in relation with Moontower Midwifery & Wellness center as my midwife practice. I do plan to receive an epidural (unsure of how early or late at this time) and would prefer not to receive pitocin unless absolutely last result needed. I would like to be able to move around and labor freely before receiving the epidural. However, everything will depend on in the moment needs and I’m looking for someone to be flexible and adaptable with me while supporting me throughout. I am also interested in learning breathing techniques specifically for labor and birth to try and avoid tearing with the epidural. I don’t want to push just because they are telling me to push, my hopes is to be able to feel the pressure and decide to push then. I am looking for a doula that is certified under the CBSD Tricare-Authorization. This allows coverage for up to 6 hours of prenatal/postpartum visits and one continuous labor support visit. The doula must be certified by an approved origination and have a signed participation agreement with Tricare West.
