After the birth of my second child, I found myself struggling with postpartum depression. Even though I had a good support system, there were many factors at play that left me feeling depressed, anxious, and like I wasn't a good mom. Thankfully, I was able to receive appropriate care and I was soon feeling better! I felt so incredibly loved and held as I did the work to recover. Because of the wonderful support I experienced from the birth and postpartum world, I decided to transition from my former career of 16 years as a veterinary technician. I am currently in the process of becoming certified as a postpartum doula through CAPPA and I am so excited to continue supporting the new families in my community!

A postpartum doula is a non-medical professional that provides physical, emotional, and educational support to a family after the addition of a new baby. I specialize in daytime care with services including: preparing nutritious meals and snacks, facilitating self-care for mom, assisting with breastfeeding, discussing the birth experience, offering educational resources, light housekeeping and organization, helping with partner and sibling bonding, assisting with newborn care, and running light errands. Overnight care may be offered on a case by case basis.
