I am a certified labor/birth and postpartum doula. I am also a Newborn Care Specialist and a certified newborn sleep specialist and sleep coach. In addition to giving birth to 10 children myself, I have helped hundreds of families in the nearly 30 years I've been doing this work. I feel it really DOES take a village to raise a child, and I am always honored to be invited to that village. Whether it's assisting in getting information so parents can make informed decisions in labor or birth, or teaching new parents how to bathe their babies, or establishing sleep routines to help all household members to "sleep like a baby", the role I am invited into is an important one that I do not take lightly.

She is now aspiring to continue the privilege of helping others by offering services as a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula with the goal of becoming a Certified Professional Midwife. She is currently working on training as a Fertility Doula to offer pre-conception services to meet the growing needs of the community.

I’d like to share my experience with the exceptional postpartum doula who supported our family during the first weeks of life with our baby. Harneet came into our home and immediately felt like family! we were blown away by the level of knowledge and assistance she was able to provide. It was clear right away that Harneet is truly gifted at postpartum work. She was able to seamlessly integrate into our routine during that vulnerable (and exhausting!) period to provide meaningful, non-judgmental relief and peace of mind in the care of ourselves, our daughter, and our home. She was able to build an instant connection with our baby and was able to give us individualized tips on how to soothe her when she was not around. We would adamantly recommend Harneet's services to any of our family or friends looking for a postpartum doula to provide support and/or guidance for their growing family.

Labor, Postpartum, lactation and Infant Care Specialist (ProDoula) Growing up, I was empowered having been around so many strong, independent women and it led me toward a path of wanting to carry that into my career. I believe that pregnancy and birth and postpartum are monumental life experiences that no one should have to do alone. Every person so matter their background or beliefs deserves support and respect as they venture through this major life transition. My personal philosophy of what doula embodies is a person who stands beside the new parent(s) to help with guidance, validation, and empowerment. For the last decade of my life I have been devoted to this practice, caring for and assisting with dozens of families to thrive in not only their family life but into their communities. And I hope to continue this practice for a long time.

A dedicated, capable, and broadly skilled Full Spectrum Doula. My skillset has flourished in the years I’ve spent in professional birth and postpartum care. Having supported over 300 families through pregnancy, labor and birth, and even hundreds more in postpartum, as well as a foundation of 20+ years of NCS experience, I am a seasoned Doula based here in metro Seattle / Tacoma. My competencies are built on the foundation of full-spectrum experience of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I walk hand in hand with families through first, second, and third births as well as the many in-between variations of the experience of growing family. It is important to me to practice with a calm and clear mind, helping to build your confidence and awareness early on, helping you assert your autonomy confidently to be in charge of your experience. At the heart of my work as your doula are the values of trust, honesty, reliability and non-judgmental support. There is no one right way to become a family. My role is to help you feel sure of what is right for you.

We truly cannot imagine how we would have navigated the first few months of new parenthood without Nori. Nori’s greatest strengths include her deep wisdom, unmatched knowledge of newborn care, and calm confidence that instantly puts parents at ease. She has a “magic touch” for soothing babies and helping them sleep, and we believe our little guy started sleeping through the night at 10 weeks due to Nori’s gentle, consistent sleep routines. (We were not sleep training at this young age—it was Nori’s consistency and routines she developed for us and our baby that helped our baby know it was time for sleep.) Nori also has a gift for coaching new parents with warmth and empathy: she taught us all the invaluable baby care skills we needed to know—diaper changing, addressing diaper rash, bottle feeding, sleep and bedtime routine, safe sleep and swaddling, soothing, bath routine and hygiene (nail trims etc), and more. She is the most (obsessively!) punctual person I know—we knew we could depend on her to arrive ten minutes early to every single shift. That consistency and reliability really put our mind at ease—my husband and I would excitedly say “tonight is a Nori night!” whenever she was coming and by 5 or 6pm, we already felt more relaxed knowing she would be arriving soon (and always early). She was a reassuring presence in helping us address a few early issues: a dairy intolerance in my breastmilk, and a (worrying-looking but ultimately totally innocuous) skin condition he had early on called transient neonatal pustular melanosis. For the first few months, the only person who could take care of our baby in a way I (the mom) could truly relax (without a single worry or needing to check in to see how things were going) was Nori—because she could provide him an unmatched level of attentiveness, care, and detail orientation. She would notice the smallest things, like a spot of diaper rash or whether to increase the oz in his bottles. Finally, I’ll add that in conversations with our friends about their night nannies and postpartum doulas, we have learned that Nori is truly one-of-a-kind—lots of our friends had wonderful experiences with their doulas/nannies, but no one was truly “Nori level.” She is exceptional and inimitable! We recommend her enthusiastically and without reservation to any family—she is priceless.

Sharlene Gonzalez

Hello, my name is Sharlene, a postpartum doula and a naturopathic medical student with a deep passion for supporting new families. My journey into birth work began when I was a senior in high school who had the opportunity to do my rotations at a hospital in Texas. Little did I know at that time that it was passion that had been born from that experience— it planted the seed for my future. Moving to Washington to study at Bastyr was a leap towards making my dreams a reality. Becoming a doula was another beautiful discovery, introduced to me by a professor who not only taught me, but also helped me heal in ways I never expected. Now, as a postpartum doula, I am honored to walk alongside new parents, providing the care, support, and reassurance they need during such a transformative time. I can’t wait to continue growing in this field and, one day, serve my community as a midwife and a prenatal ND, providing holistic care throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Christina was our postpartum doula for several months and I highly recommend her. She made sure we slept and had moments of relaxation during our steep learning curve as new parents, ensured our son was well taken care of, and taught us so much about caring for a newborn. Christina was calm and supportive. She answered and anticipated so many of our questions with such a depth of knowledge and experience that we were able to skip many of the uncertainties and anxieties we were anticipating as first time parents. Christina is communicative, reliable, helpful, supportive, caring, and trustworthy, we’re so thankful for all she did for us!
