Hello! My name is Shauna and I can’t wait to support you! I am happy to be in Monterey County where I live with my two wonderful children, adoring husband and fluffy dog. I enjoy caring for those around me and always have. Cooking is how I show my love for others and it brings me joy when I can share a meal with anyone! After the birth of my son, I was welcomed into a new community of people with a wealth of information and knowledge to share. I was blown away by the care I received during and after pregnancy. I realized how important all the information I had learned had helped me have a better pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. I want to be sure that all families benefit from this knowledge. I became a Doula to continue to support those around me. Being pregnant was the most empowering time of my life and I hope to support you as you welcome new emotions and experiences during this transition to parenthood. I want to help you feel empowered and experience the wonderful journey the way you envision it! I will be with you to provide individualized evidence based information, community resources to fit your needs and desires, and a loving support system throughout your prenatal and postpartum period

Private Postpartum Doula/ Sleeping Training D.S. October 2024 - The first two years I worked full time taking care of the twins. Provided postpartum infant care by supporting mother with newborn babies - assisted with feeding, diaper changing, bathing, dressing, sleep training, setting up babies' schedule as children grew. Additional house support included laundry, cooking and light cleaning. As they grew, the following two years I worked part-time, transporting them to and from school, helping with homework and projects, preparing healthy meals, taking care of their laundry. Nowadays I am still their nanny when the family needs something extra. Private

I’m a patient, compassionate, and reliable overnight doula who specializes in getting baby on a schedule, sleep training, and helping families transition into postpartum. I am calm and cool under pressure. I worked 6 years in Emergency Medicine as an EMT in San Francisco and did NICU transports of premature babies. I am passionate about my work since I truly believe it takes a village to care for children and want to help many families in enjoying postpartum rather than just surviving it! I am flexible and friendly and love good communication. When I’m not working, I enjoy powerlifting, singing, and doing jigsaw puzzles. I am certified in Postpartum Infant Care, Infant Feeding Education, CPR, and First Aid.

Gena was an absolute gift as we navigated the first few weeks of our son’s life. Having had a very difficult postpartum period with my first son, I did all I could to prepare for the birth of my second son which is how I met Gena. She was able to immediately put me at ease when my anxiety was front and center and helped me get centered when things felt extra difficult. She had faith in me when I wasn’t so sure and we talked about life and newborns striking a perfect balance of knowledge and friendliness that is hard to find. If you get the chance to work with Gena you will be all the better for it. I highly recommend her.

But it is not something that you need to do alone, I can help you.
