About me

At Sprout Speech and Language Pathology, we are committed to relationship-driven and play-based therapy. As children participate in therapy, they develop the skills necessary to play, learn, communicate, and grow to their full potential. Children thrive with increased self-esteem and confidence as they are able to communicate better. Sprout SLP is a place where children and families can feel comfortable getting support. We believe in treating each child as an individual, within the context of his or her family and community. Working closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other related professionals, we provide the most coordinated and effective support to young children and their families.

Service introduction

We specialize in providing assessment and treatment for toddlers and preschoolers at risk for communication delay and with identified speech and language disorders. Our philosophy of practice includes play-based and relationship-driven therapy and parent/teacher coaching on an individual basis. We apply a variety of therapeutic strategies to address: speech/language delay language disorder childhood apraxia of speech dysarthria oral motor issues phonological disorders Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) articulation difficulties fluency Additionally, we provide support for school age children with articulation difficulties and as supplemental to their IEP goals. All sessions include best practices for early intervention with an emphasis on building listening skills, developing play, and building communicative confidence. Treatment goals and specific targets are chosen based on developmental stages and in collaboration with parents. Parents, and other caregivers, are present in the sessions and will be educated and trained in both the “why” and “what” of carrying over treatment strategies, so that their child can continue to have practice opportunities at home in between sessions to maximize progress.
