My partner and I are first time parents looking for a doula to advocate for a support our birth plan wishes. I plan to give birth in a hospital. Our estimated budget is $2500. Birth Plan (Rough Draft) 1. Mother and Baby come home Safely 2. Avoid Inducing Labor -If water breaks before contractions start, wait 12 hours and induce labor only if labor has not started by then. In this scenario, avoid digital vaginal exams unless necessary. 3. Our doula will be with us. to help prevent c-section and the use of forceps and epidural 4. Monitoring should be done intermittently or mobile, not continuous or immobilized 5. If labor progression is slow, we prefer augmentation by amniotomy (breaking water) first, then Pitocin. 6. No routine episiotomy. 7. Pitocin in the third stage is fine if necessary or recommended 8. No to the First Bath 9. Yes to the Vitamin K Shot 10. No to the Hepatitis B shot (before 2 months)
