I am an older mom at 35, in a higher risk pregnancy. Hello. I just had my third baby January 5th. He was in the nicu for 2.5 weeks, so he was fed expressed breastmilk and nursed while i visited him. He’s been home for over a week now and we are struggling mastering the perfect latch. I’m in serious pain half the time. Based on my knowledge/experience with my other two kiddos, my baby has a tongue tie and I suspect that is part of the issue. He is scheduled to get that evaluated on February 9th. But in the meantime, I would really like to meet with an LC to help us and if we go through with a tie release, I feel I need some guidance there too. With my first child, I decided to exclusively pump right off the bat. With my second, I pumped and nursed. But with this baby, I would really prefer to nurse more than pump, but unfortunately right now I’m pumping more because of the pain. I have horizon nj health insurance and really need to find a LC who can take my insurance. Thank you!

I am looking for someone that can be a third party resource after the baby arrives. This is my first baby and my husband doesn’t get paternity leave. I love my family but don’t want to put too much burden on them for help, so looking to have another resource. First time breastfeeding, I’m nervous about latching and tongue ties.
