Hello There! I’m Teresa A curly hair, messy bun wearing, plant loving, fitness enthusiast, crafter, and Mama of an adventurous toddler. I am a therapist for moms who are facing unique challenges in their transition into motherhood. We’re often brought up to believe that being a good mother means you sacrifice yourself. I have to say, I completely disagree with that belief. It was through the experience of having my son during the onset of a global pandemic that I became aware of the need for adequate support and resources for women during the perinatal period. While the world kept me in isolation, I was so busy caring for a newborn that I didn’t realize this new season of motherhood was isolating in itself. This is where I found my “why” in supporting mamas to prioritize their mental health. I’ve been there, in the chaos of the sleepless lonely nights, the overwhelmingly long days, that you get so wrapped up in you can’t remember when you last showered. Motherhood is an incredible-yet-demanding journey and you can be a Mom and still be You too.

Her passion for supporting mothers began after she transitioned into motherhood. She is determined to fill the gap in maternal mental health for women who experience difficulty navigating this major life transition. Mental health counseling services are provided via telehealth platform.
I have been working with Teresa for nearly 2 years. She has been a pivotal part of my growth during this time. I started working with her to heal from grief and our sessions have morphed to cover so much more. She hears everything that I say and responds with grace and just the right amount of push that I need to get over the obstacles in front of me. I look forward to sharing the small successes with her and she celebrates those with me. But she also makes sure to keep our time sacred and truly focus on what I *need.* She carries herself with a balance of friendliness and professionalism. I've come so far from where I was two years ago and I wouldn't be where I am today without her.

Teresa has been an incredible Licensed Professional Counselor to me and has been instrumental in helping me heal through my self discovery journey. I have been working with Teresa for over a year now and the personal progress that I have made is thanks to her. She has been very patient and supportive during this journey. Being a first time mom, and going through a divorce was a very difficult time in my life. The demands that come with being a first time mom, caring for a newborn, as well as learning how to be the head of household was a challenging journey. I personally would suppress my emotions and values underneath piles and piles of work. I guess it was easier to deal with work and become a workaholic versus taking control of what I was actually going through in my personal life. I came to my breaking point February 2021 in which I did not understand who/what was important to me and most importantly who I was as a person anymore. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Teresa has helped me become aware of my emotions, challenge my negative thoughts, has helped me identify what my true values are and how to make them a priority, and is currently helping me process traumatic events in my life. Being a mom is hard work! Let alone being a single mom. However all of the hard work that I have been able to put into my mental wellness has helped me discover myself again and has helped me align my values. All of this was possible thanks to Teresa. Her kindness, patience, and experience have definitely made a huge improvement in my life. There are not enough words to express my gratitude towards her. I would, without a doubt, recommend Teresa’s services to any mom needing a little help in making herself a priority again and/or needing help with their mental wellness. Moms are superheroes! There is no task or obstacle too big or too small that they cannot deal with or handle. However, I have come to find out that even superheroes need help. So please prioritize you and take care of you. Once you have learned to take care of yourself, only then, will you also be able to take care of others.
