This will be my first birth. I don't like the idea of giving birth in a hospital. I'd like a home water birth. I'm not sure about budget or at what it starts. I want to prep my body so birth is not a horrible experience. I'd prefer someone with many years of experience, at least 5. And speaks English and Spanish. I'm 28 years old and I'd like to have a postpartum plan to include healthy eating habits and exercise.

I would like them to have a certification, to be experienced, and to speak English. Age doesn't really matter. Preferably someone over 30/35. BlueShield PPO.

I plan on birthing in San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland CA. I would like to have as least medical interventions as possible however while still in a hospital setting in case it is medically necessary to intervene. I would like to have a doula for supporting my husband and I in preparation for this to be possible as well as postpartum support to help me get settled in as a new mother healing from birthing. I don’t have a set budget as I am unaware of the costs that go into this. But we are willing to work towards meeting our needs. I would like to be informed of all my childbirth options, like how much is covered through my insurance, maternity leave and childcare for when I return to work. I am covered through Blue Shield Trio HMO and have a medical group called Optum Network Inland Valley.

Ideally I would have a postpartum doula and/or night nanny three days a week for the first month or so, but I would want the care to be covered by insurance. I'm potentially interested in hypnotherapy and aromatherapy, but not opposed to an epidural, and would like a very quiet and calm environment with minimal yelling. Absolutely no circumcision under any circumstances. Apparently I have a chance at getting reimbursed for doula services if they work under a license of some kind, so that would be preferred. I want as natural birth as possible in the sense that I only want medical intervention if it is absolutely necessary (no induction, no episiotomy etc).
