Dionne greeted me on my first night at home with my newborn, and I knew immediately that we were both in good hands due to her warm, calming, and joyful presence. We were only able to work together a handful of nights, but I would definitely work with Dionne again!

My name is Nia Rose, I am a WHOLElistic doula where I take into consideration the whole (spiritual, mental, physical and emotional) aspect of pregnancy and birth. My practice evolves around meeting my clients wherever they are at and being alongside them as they journey into parenthood. I love to incorporate what I have learned from previous experiences as I learn and grow along my journey into birth work. I would love to chat with you to determine if we will be a good fit!

Recent review

I hired Nia Nchami as a doula for the birth of my second daughter in 2022. After an initial conversation via email, she came to our house and really listened to my concerns, fears and hopes for my delivery. She took extensive notes and created a birth plan that truly encapsulated what I wanted for the birth. We stayed in contact for several months and talked more frequently as my due day neared. When the day came, she was a force of nature. She kept me calm and confident. She helped me to navigate the birthing process. But most importantly, advocated for me with my doctors, nurses and healthcare staff to ensure that I received the best care. I can truly say that I had a much better experience giving birth than the first time and Nia was a big reason why. She is extremely professional, but also calm and caring. I’m so glad that I found her!

I myself identify as queer and Latina. Eu falo português e adoraria trabalhar com famílias brasileiras. 🇧🇷 In my free time, I love to cook, read, journal, play volleyball, practice Pilates, and make pottery, and I’m passionate about weaving mindfulness, movement, and nourishment into birthwork in ways that uplift radiant, full-body joy. I’m lucky to live with my wife and our Siberian husky, Olaf, in Germantown, Philadelphia.

Larissa was an incredible birth doula. She is extremely knowledgeable and provided so many helpful resources ahead of my birth, which truly helped me feel informed and prepared. Throughout the process, she empowered me to advocate for myself and make confident decisions. During labor, her calm presence was grounding and reassuring, and she was always attentive and protective of my birth space. I felt supported, heard, and truly cared for every step of the way.
