I'm looking to have a natural birth at kaiser San Leandro, so doula would need to bill through my insurance. I'm looking for a doula that can really motivate me I tend to get overwhelmed when I'm in pain so i need someone that can really center me in those moments during labor. I need a lot of physical and emotional help through labor and birth. i don't want to be medicated so I'm stressing that i need a doula that has the experience with helping someone like me.

I am located in Alameda and will likely be giving birth at the San Leandro Kaiser or Oakland Kaiser if I find the right doula. I currently have Kaiser and have confirmed that my insurance does cover doula support. I plan on birthing at the hospital, and I will be using pain medication to support me. I'm mostly looking for advocacy due to a traumatic birth experience at Kaiser Oakland, where they kept trying to push a C-section and tore my water without consent.

Greetings, My partner Chris and I are just starting our search for a birth doula. This will be our first baby and I have had a healthy pregnancy so far. I'm planning to give birth at Kaiser Oakland with an epidural. I would love to find a doula who has experience with Kaiser and billing as I understand that doulas could be covered by Kaiser. We are still very open minded about birth plan and hope to create this with support of a doula. What I do know is that I would be giving birth in a hospital setting, am 40 yo, this is my first childbirth, in support of an epidural, would like to avoid c-section. Hello! We are thrilled to be expecting our second baby in early December. Our firstborn will be roughly 18 months at that time. Like our first, I plan to labor at home and then transfer to Kaiser Oakland when it is time. Ideally (and knowing that all plans can go out the window) this birth would include utilizing holistic pain management at home until contractions become unmanageable. If I experience extreme pain like my first birth, I will ask for an epidural at the hospital, though ideally this would be avoided. Something new we are trying this time is hypnobirthing training prior to labor - we are hoping this will help delay any need for medication. After birth, we plan to take our placenta home for later planting. I will be breastfeeding exclusively and baby will co-sleep. We would really love to utilize the Kaiser doula coverage, and can supplement for the right fit. Our biggest doula need we imagine to be postpartum - care for mom, possibly support for firstborn. We would also be excited to have a birthing doula if the price and timing work out. We had a doula for our first birth and paid out of pocket.

Hi, This is my first pregnancy and I am currently 10 weeks along. I am looking for guidance and support from a doula who can help both my husband and me navigate this journey. I am planning to give birth in a hospital. My goal is to have a natural birth with an epidural. At the same time, I am open to any medical recommendations necessary to ensure the health and safety of both myself and the baby. I would also love to build an ongoing relationship with a doula who can continue to support me during the postpartum period, including education around lactation and breastfeeding. We are covered by Carrot Insurance and Kaiser, so it would be wonderful if you accept either of these.

I’m looking for medical and emotional/spiritual support before and during birth, and support with feeding and just general questions post-birth. I would prefer an at-home birth but I am open to a birthing center. I am 37 and will be 38 at the time of birth and I’ll be a first-time mother. I plan on not using any drugs and I would prefer a tub birth with some candles and Enya and as chill as possible. My budget is pretty much nothing as I’m a returning college student.
