About me

As your doula, my role is to support you and your family in the way that best helps you feel calm, confident, and present throughout labor. That might look like hands-on support to help you labor more comfortably at home, guiding your partner in how to do the same, offering gentle coaching as you breathe through contractions, or even quietly capturing photos and keeping loved ones updated. Every birth is unique, and I’m flexible to your goals and desires—even if they shift as labor unfolds. While some people picture doulas as very “woo-woo” or mystical, my style is more grounded and pragmatic. I believe in giving you practical tools, evidence-based guidance, and steady encouragement so you can navigate the challenges of labor with clarity and confidence. I love preparing families by educating them about what to expect and how to respond intentionally, rather than react impulsively in the moment. My professional background is in leadership, mentorship, and professional development, and I bring that same skillset into my doula work—helping you tap into your own strength, stay relaxed, and move through labor as smoothly as your body allows. My ultimate goal is to help you experience the fastest, easiest birth your body is capable of, while holding space for you to feel calm, supported, and fully present in the process.

Service introduction

The “Birth Doula & Lactation Support” package includes two prenatal meetings, on-call support from when the contract is signed, in-person labor support, unlimited communication through pregnancy and up to 4 months postpartum, plus up to three postpartum visits for lactation help (with latch analysis, optional weighted feeds, etc.). It also includes birth notes, pictures, and a complimentary meet & greet to go over your goals. If you want more limited support, there is a Birth Doula only option, which still includes prenatal meetings, on-call and in-person labor coverage, and continued support after birth, though without the extra lactation-focused postpartum visits. Also offered is a Birth Partner Training session—90 minutes virtually—that teaches comfort measures partners can use during labor (massages, counter-pressure, etc.), with 30 minutes for Q&A, and continued availability via text for questions leading up to labor. Lactation support is also available as standalone sessions if doula services aren’t part of your plan.

I would highly recommend hiring Alix if you are giving birth anytime soon or saving her information if you plan to give birth anytime in the future. My husband and I were not originally planning on having a doula. We gave birth at a birthing center and thought that a doula's main benefit would be advocating for us in a hospital setting (although we did not experience this I am positive Alix would also be very helpful in this setting as well). Alix was a godsend!! Get ready for the long list of things that were so helpful to my husband and I in labor: she helped give my husband a break from different comfort measures, helped calm and focus me when I started to believe I couldn't do it, was so knowledgeable in different positions and comfort measures to try, she brought different tools with her to help in labor (I would not have gotten through labor without the help of the labor comb that she brought), she communicated directly with our midwife and got us going to the birthing center when we needed to (without her we probably would have given birth at home which was not a part of our plan), and on the way to the birthing center she bought liquid IV's to make sure I was staying hydrated. This is just the list of things she did while at our home and on the way to the birthing center (and it is not an exhaustive list!!). I haven't even mentioned how she helped at the birthing center as well as her communication and encouragement during pregnancy and her care after giving birth. This review is already long enough so I will not add those things but will say that Alix is amazing and you will not regret hiring her (especially if you are a first time mom like me!!).

Alix was my doula for my first baby. My labor was 52 hours and definitely harder then I expected nor did it go completely by plan but Alix went above and beyond for me and my baby and even helped my husband by showing him how to help me in hard moments. Alix stayed with me through every contraction and every moment I felt like giving up. When it was time to push she help my hands and stayed in front of me so I knew I wasn't alone. I remembered her saying "you're going to meet your baby" multiple times which led to me only pushing for 20-30 mins as that's all I needed and wanted in that moment. Alix was apart of a life changing event and honestly couldn't have done it without her. She educated me, she let me ask all the questions I needed and checked in with me during my pregnancy even when I went MIA at times. Shes extremely communicative and sweet. If you are wanting an ordinary doula then find someone else. Alix is extraordinary and won't regret having her as apart of your birth team.
