About me

I have lived in Florida all my life. My happy place is by the ocean listening to the waves. I am married to my college sweetheart and we have 3 beautiful, wild boys. I became fascinated by the magic and mechanics of birth during my first pregnancy in 2013. I had an emergency c-section followed by medicated and unmedicated vaginal births in 2016 and 2019. For all three, I had the same doula by my side sharing her 30+ years of wisdom. In 2023, I formalized my training and certifications and have been focusing on doula work full-time. Aside from parenting my sons, it is my biggest privilege and joy to serve mothers in this vulnerable time, and I look forward to knowing and serving you during your journey. I strongly believe it is the right of the birthing person to choose whatever path is right for them. Every body, baby and pregnancy is different. If you choose me to be by your side, my promise is to help you and your partner bring that vision to life. Knowing birth can be unpredictable, I will do everything I can to ensure you feel safe, loved, empowered and strong every step of the way. I would love to talk with you about your wishes for your birth. Get in touch with me today to set up a free consultation.

Amanda was amazing. When my labor stalled out she knew just what to do. She created a spa like experience for me to relax and within 45 minute I gave birth. Even the nurses were impressed with all of her support and gadgets. In the end it was just her and the student nurse who were there during the birth. The RN ran in to catch the baby (the doctor didn't make it in time). Amanda coached me throughout and kept me grounded and relaxed. As a nurse myself I highly recommend her. Another example of her awesomeness is that I didn't want the full dose of pitocin to be induced (per their protocol) as I knew I could get hypertonic uterus as I had at my first birth. So we VERY gradually used it to help get my body started, and it worked! She was very patient and supported my decisions throughout. I couldn't have asked for better. Thank you again Amanda!! I would definitely use you again if I were still local and intended on having more kids :)

Having Amanda as a doula was such an amazing experience: From helping me plan and prep for a natural labor, to plans drastically changing and having her to support me through my hospital stay and eventually C-section. She always kept my wants and best interest at the forefront of every conversation and she supported me even when my birth plan got turned completely upside down! Having her support through all the uncertainty was priceless and she was such a kind and knowledgeable person. I would recommend Amanda to anybody looking for a supportive doula for their birthing process!

We hired Amanda as our birth doula because of her extensive hospital advocacy experience. We were planning a homebirth, but wanted to be prepared in case of a transfer. At 42 weeks and 1 day, 26 hours into labor, we found ourselves transferring and were so glad we had Amanda with us. Laboring at home, Amanda brought a calm reassurance we desperately needed as first time parents. She walked in, dimmed the lights, and started music and a diffuser. She made sure I had eaten and reminded me this is what we had been waiting for for so long. After some rest she came back, matching our renewed energy and cheerfully helped me into different positions. She set up my affirmation cards and happy birthday sign I made for baby. When it came time to transfer, Amanda helped us pack up, making sure we took the things that were important to me - affirmation cards, happy birthday sign, the baby blanket, etc. The hospital transfer came with many changes from our original birth plan, but Amanda advocated for us the whole time. From using nitrous oxide to avoid an epidural to eventually needing the support of the epidural, she made sure we took each intervention step by step with a focus on our end goal - a vaginal delivery. While I did feel that my birth plan was drastically deviated from, with the support of Amanda as our doula, baby was born vaginally and breastfed right away. Amanda’s seemingly endless supply of bone broth packets, TENS unit, and counter pressure had been highlights of my birth. Immediately after birth and again at our postpartum visit, Amanda made me feel like I really had accomplished what I had set out to do, even if the path to get there wasn’t the one I planned.

Amanda was an absolute blessing throughout our entire birth journey. From the very beginning, during our prenatal visits, she was a wealth of knowledge, helping us prepare for birth in a way that felt both empowering and reassuring. She was always responsive and available whenever we had questions or needed guidance leading up to labor. After going to 41 weeks and 5 days, I had to be induced—a change in plan that could have felt overwhelming. But Amanda remained so positive and encouraging, reminding us that while the journey might shift, the destination would remain the same. That mantra stayed with me throughout my labor. She arrived early in the morning once I was induced, bringing the most thoughtful items that set the perfect energy in the room—essential oils, calming lights, and even the perfect snacks and drinks to keep me going. She knew exactly how to support both me and my husband, stepping in when he needed rest and always offering guidance with love and respect. Throughout my 36-hour labor, she suggested different positions and techniques to help—moving from the shower to the tub, trying inversions, and offering hip squeezes, encouragement, and sips of green tea. Even when labor wasn’t progressing, leading to an informed and non-emergent belly birth, I still felt completely empowered, thanks to Amanda’s unwavering support. She stayed for the birth, capturing beautiful photos and videos—precious moments my husband wouldn’t have been able to get since he was by my side. I will always treasure those images as they document the moment we became parents. Her care didn’t end there. The follow-up visit at our home was just as wonderful. She took the time to reflect on our experience together and offered invaluable breastfeeding tips and tricks. Amanda has such a warm and calming spirit—it truly felt like we had known her forever. Anyone would be incredibly lucky to have Amanda in their corner. She made our birth experience one filled with love, empowerment, and unwavering support. We cannot recommend her enough!

Amanda was nothing short of amazing in our experience with her. She’s is extremely educated and experienced in this field, and she did a great job of passing along that knowledge to us, leaving us full of confidence going into the labor process. She’s detail-oriented, organized, and helped us create a plan. My favorite part about our experience with her was in the actual delivery room. The mood and energy she creates is calming and peaceful. You almost forget you’re in a hospital. Highly recommend her

Amanda helped me with the birth of my daughter back in November. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. She met with me and my husband a few times before the birthday and went over every choice that we would be presented with in the hospital (which I was completely unaware of), as well as different labor positions since it would be difficult to do when the day actually came (impossible really!). She also always answered my messages quickly and thoroughly throughout my pregnancy and is super knowledgeable. My labor went smooth and quickly and I really have her to thank for that. I definitely would never have switched labor positions or used a birth comb or used a tens-unit on my own and my husband is amazing, but he would have no idea what to do without her (LOL). I was able to follow my birth plan of no epidural and my birth lasted 12 hours from water breaking to my baby girl arriving. You can tell Amanda truly loves what she does. I could not recommend her enough!

I chose Amanda as my doula due to her personal experiences with birth as well as her overall knowledge base and experience with hypnobirthing. During pregnancy, she was always easily accessible and calmed my mind if I was questioning something with my body. Amanda helped me with stretching recommendations for my aches and pains and also performed rebozo and other birth ball techniques to help with baby's positioning. Walking through my birth preferences with her, I felt very heard and knew she understood my wants/needs as baby's birthing day approached. My birth took an unexpected turn and I birthed baby in our car en route to the hospital, but Amanda was there to take pictures and fan my husband and calm our chaos! In the postpartum period, Amanda checked in on us and made a home visit where she loved on baby so I could eat breakfast with 2 hands! I absolutely recommend Amanda and would use her again if we had another baby.

Amanda was terrific to work with. She came over to our house multiple times and met with us and also did a couple of video calls to review our birth plan and address any questions we had. Amanda also was quick to respond via text message when we had a question or something came up. At the hospital, she arrived with a bag of things to help my wife while she was in labor and pre labor. We appreciate all she did and would highly recommend her to anyone that wants a great experience.

Amanda made us feel so supported from the second we hired her! I was unsure about hiring a doula as this was my first pregnancy and there's just so much to think about, but I am so glad I did. Throughout my pregnancy she offered advice and support if I ever needed it and once labor began she was there from start to finish! She supported me and my husband throughout the whole process, created a calming birth environment in the hospital room, helped me through various positions and comfort measures, and helped us work through various obstacles throughout, making sure we knew all of the information and all of our options before the doctors and nurses did anything. She is such a calming presence and I truly couldn't have gotten through it without her! She is the best!!

Amanda was so supportive and encouraging from the first phone call to the post partum visit. She offered some great advice to help get the baby in a good position for my V-bac. She does everything she can to make the journey easier. Thanks Amanda!
