Hello! I am just starting a search for a doula. I’m 39, this will be my first baby, brought to us by IVF. I live in Ankeny, I need to choose between delivering at Mercy West or Methodist West. I got in at Iowa Clinic so that’s where I’m going for OB. I would like to deliver vaginally, but I respect medical opinions. I just also want support to advocate for myself. I’m looking for help planning and preparing for birth. I also had a breast reduction at 18, so I am unsure whether I will be able to breastfeed and how much.

I plan to give birth in a hospital without any medication. My budget depends on what services I decide I need but I'm thinking around a grand I'm not sure. I want a doula certified in herbalism one who will help me incorporate herbs back into my life during and right after birth.

I plan to give birth at the hospital (mercy hospital). I will be going through insurance. I have a son that is 3 years old my birthing experience was very much rushed they laid him on my chest for 5 seconds and proceeded to then take him. Stitched me up an 1 min later I had to get up and get onto the wheel chair while still not really capable of moving as I should after my epidural. I was very confused on the rush. Anxiety was spiked and there wasn’t really any explanation. I want the epidural this time also. I do not want my baby to have any vaccinations at the hospital. I would like her to stay in the hospital room with me at all times.
