Hospital birth but no and or very limited medical interventions

Maryville IL Unknown Looking for an unmedicated birth/support and someone to support my husband while im in labor as this is our first child.

I will be giving birth naturally in a hospital and would love to have a medical midwife attend. I will be delaying cord cutting and insisting on golden hour contact for myself and my husband. I would love to have a tub available, but definitely want to be prepared with holistic physical education about how to move, prepare, and position during labor, and best practices for recovery. I'd prefer to spend less than $3000 if possible, but quality of care is the priority.

I am an internationally trained doula currently completing recertification requirements in the United States and seeking approved settings in Indiana where I may complete required observation hours. As part of my recertification, I am required to be present for a minimum number of births and to complete observation hours related to labor, delivery, and lactation support. I plan to give birth at a hospital and I want the birth as natural as possible

I plan to give birth at Sentara in Woodbridge but my OB’s office is in Stafford. I have Medicaid. I don’t have a birth plan but I’d like help creating one. I’ve had past miscarriages and this pregnancy has been healthy, but lonely and scary. I’d like the support of a doula for many reasons.

Continuous support from my partner is very important. ⸻ Pushing & Delivery • I would like to push from my diaphragm with calm, controlled guidance. • I want the freedom to push in different positions (hands-and-knees, squatting, side-lying, etc.) for comfort and effective delivery. • I would like my husband to cut the cord. ⸻ After Birth – Mom Care • I would like my placenta delivered naturally, assisted if needed. • Please inform me before postpartum interventions. • I do not wish to keep my placenta. • Post-delivery support if available: • Latch support • Bleeding/uterus check with explanation • Recovery care guidance ⸻ After Birth – Baby Care • Delayed cord clamping until cord stops pulsing or for at least 2–3 minutes if medically safe. • Immediate skin-to-skin if possible. • Breastfeeding within the first hour if possible; no pacifiers or bottles unless medically needed. • Newborn eye ointment and vitamin K: apply after skin-to-skin and first breastfeeding session if safe. • First bath delayed 12–24 hours to preserve vernix and support bonding, temperature regulation, and breastfeeding if safe. • Measurements and birth weight after skin-to-skin and first breastfeeding session if baby is stable. ⸻ Visitors & Communication • Only husband + one support person (Mom) allowed during active labor and delivery. • After birth care, grandparents may visit: • Noel Sanders-Williams • Nathan Williams • Tyneasha Banks • Larry Banks • I prefer clear, calm explanations from staff. ⸻ Medical Interventions I would like to avoid interventions unless medically necessary: • IV: Only if medically necessary • Continuous fetal monitoring: Only if required • Induction: Only if medically recommended • Artificial rupture of membranes: Avoid unless needed • Episiotomy: Avoid unless absolutely necessary • Forceps/Vacuum: Only if medically required • C-section: I want to be fully informed and involved in the decision I understand interventions may be needed for my or my baby’s safety and trust my care team to discuss them with me. In case of unexpected C-section: • I would like my partner to stay with me if allowed. • Skin-to-skin and breastfeeding support as soon as possible after surgery.

First time mom and don’t have answers to any of those questions other than I want to give birth at the hospital.

We plan to have a home birth, we are hoping that we can find some covered services under TRICARE. Outside of that our budget depending on the service.

I plan to give birth at Sentera Norfolk General Hospital. I live in Yorktown, VA so may go to the closest hospital if I go into early active labor. My husband and I are federal workers and are being affected by the government shutdown. I am still figuring out a birth plan. This will be my first birth.

1. Plan to give birth with midwives in Stafford Hospital 2. I have tricare select. Hoping that it’ll be covered through tricare but willing to pay more if needed. 3. I want an unmedicated natural birth with as minimal interventions as possible. I want to focus on movement throughout labor and mindset, breathing.

I plan to give birth at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. My budget will be through TriCare. I don't have a birth plan yet, but it I know it will include not getting an epidural, and being as active as possible. Prefer to give birth in an upright position, not lying on my back.

I plan to give birth at the hospital. My budget is $10,000, I would love a doula that works with insurances. My birth plan so far is, I want to go unmedicated if possible, I want a doula who can speak up for me when needed and know what to do, I have a hard time speaking up for myself, especially around medical people. I want an atmosphere that’s calm, no bright overhead lights.
