Hello! My name is Marcela and from a young age I’ve felt a calling to help those who cannot speak for themselves, this is why I initially became a Veterinarian Technician. After enjoying that field for many years I wanted to specialize in OB/GYN sonography. Plans were put on hold as I welcomed my blessing. During my pregnancy I took all sorts of classes to prepare for birth, but, when it came to the hospital, things didn’t go as planned and I was stripped from my birth rights ! I never want another mother to feel the way I felt or be treated the way I was. Every woman deserves to feel empowered, supported and loved throughout their pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum and lactation journey. My passion for doula work only grew as I learned the statistics with minority women and I am ready to be a part of that change! I want to be a part of the statistic that decreases birth mortality.

My name is Samantha Dorleus, and I’m from Miami, Florida. I’m the youngest of my older siblings, and growing up, I’ve always taken on the role of caretaker for my younger cousins. As my older sister and brother had children, it became second nature for me to help care for my nephews. When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I was ready for the journey ahead. Becoming a mother has been the most amazing experience of my life! Watching my daughter grow from a tiny baby in my belly to the beautiful little sunflower she is today has been truly incredible. Now that she’s 5 years old, I know I still have so much to learn as she continues to grow, but I’m beyond grateful to have her in my life. With my extensive experience caring for children since a young age, I’ve worked in after-school programs, summer camps, and preschools since 2015. Caring for children is something I’ve always loved and admired. I am now certified as a Doula and look forward to providing services to elevate and advocate for mothers, especially by offering postpartum/prenatal care. It’s my mission to support women as they navigate this beautiful but sometimes overwhelming journey of motherhood. I’m currently a full-time mom and, in my spare time, I enjoy cooking, crafting, working out, and finding new ways to support my daughter’s growth and development. I also love exploring new foods, with Caribbean cuisine being one of my favorites! I’m excited to offer my services and look forward to being of help to you all.

There are not enough words to describe the heartwarming unforgettable experience I had with my Doula throughout my pregnancy and birth. Amber was amazing from the time I met her. She was well educated, knowledgeable and lightened up much of my anxiety from personal circumstances with all of her comfort, help, and support. She was attentive, had much patience, and was very easy to communicate with. Amber is passionate about what she does and she had been everything I needed for my first pregnancy. Amber is definitely one of the major reasons that I had confidence during labor. I am highly grateful and blessed to have had the opportunity to work with her. Thank you so much, Amber!

My name is Joanna, founder of Sisterhood Healing. I am a devoted mother of two, and it was through my own journey into motherhood that I was led to become a doula and childbirth educator. Guided by God, I have walked a path of deep healing—finding His peace, comfort, and reassurance in both birth and motherhood. Much of my healing came through the Holy Spirit and the strength of sisterhood. Today, I have the honor of walking alongside other women, teaching, and sharing the wisdom I have received. Ranging from postpartum nutrition, postpartum herbal bath and massage as well as postpartum closing bone ceremony. My passion is caring for mama as she cares for baby. Allowing her the space to navigate her new role whether it be her first baby or her ninth with the upmost care, patience and kindness and with my full support and knowledge. Let us build a village together

After having a pregnancy that was not like my first for reasons other than health, I received a postpartum herbal bath from Alexandra. The experience was truly exceptional as the way in which she took her time to curate a bath that was specific to me and my needs was barely the pinnacle of my experience. In moments of uncertainty as a mother, whether it is your first or your third, the care you receive matters. Receiving care from Alexandra is an experience within itself that can only be described within a feeling, one that is sweetened with care and someone who is committed to carrying you to the other of your vulnerability. I recommend her services to others as she is an exceptional individual who is serious about her craft and the care of the children in which she assisted in coming into this world. Again, I can not fully put into words what it is like as you would have to experience her services to understand. I can say within a day I was up and walking, and the aches and pain had vanished seemingly overnight after the bath. Simply plain and put she is passionate and dedicated and will show up for you.

Hello, My name is Hermila but everyone calls me Milly. I am originally from Havana, Cuba but have been living in Miami for over 20 years. I am bilingual and speak both English and Spanish. I am a mother of two girls whom I adore and have taught me more about life than I could ever explain. I am a birth and postpartum doula serving the South Florida area. For as long as I could remember, I have been fascinated by all things surrounding pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. My very different birth experiences lead me on the path of birth work. Having had a c-section with my first daughter and natural home birth with my second. Having lived the drastic difference between those experiences shaped my views and proved the importance of education and support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I have made it my life’s work to educate and prepare families in all aspects for the journey ahead. It is an honor to be able to guide families in this transitional time of their lives. I strongly believe the way we birth impacts our lives forever. It is my mission to make sure every family I work with has the proper tools to achieve the birth experience they desire.
