Hi, I’m reaching out because my wife is currently in labor and we are urgently looking for an on-call doula available as soon as possible. She is 40 weeks pregnant and has started showing signs of active labor (mucus plug and bloody show), and things are progressing. We are located in Minneapolis and would really appreciate immediate support if you’re available. Please let me know if you can come right away or if you’re on call today/tonight. Thank you so much. |

Due date or baby's birthday: January 26, 2026
Hi Kayla! I'm a mom of 6 - we recently had our second set of twins, 5 weeks old. I'm wondering what type of post-delivery care you provide? As it was with my first set of twins, I'm finding it difficult to meet all of the babies' newborn needs (being held while I breastfeed one, holding or soothing to sleep, etc) while managing my own needs (food and water, haha!). I think we just need some help for a few weeks during the day while my husband is at work. Is this something you do? |

Cathy is looking for Postpartum Doula, Birth Doula
|
Location: Marion, IA, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: July 30, 2026
1. Plan to give birth at UIHC most likely planned c section related to previous full term loss. 2. $1500-$1750 Budget 3. A planned C-section birth plan focused on creating a "gentle" or family-centered experience by requesting preferences like dimmed lights, music, a clear drape to view the birth, immediate skin-to-skin contact, and delayed cord clamping. Gentle C-Section Plan: Environment: Request dimmed lights, a quiet room, or to play your own playlist. Support: Designate your partner or support person to be present. Comfort: Request IV lines, blood pressure cuffs, and EKG leads be placed on your non-dominant arm to allow for easier holding of the baby. Visualization: Ask for a clear drape (or to have the mirror/screen lowered) to see the baby being born. During the Birth Communication: Ask the staff to explain what is happening, and consider requesting they tell you when they are ready to begin. Skin-to-Skin: Request immediate skin-to-skin contact in the operating room (OR) if no medical issues arise. Cord Clamping: Ask for delayed cord clamping, allowing the cord to stop pulsing before it is cut. Bonding: Request that the baby stays with you while the incision is being sutured, rather than going immediately to a warmer. Immediately After Procedures: Request that newborn assessments (weighing, measuring, cleaning) be delayed until after your first hour of skin-to-skin bonding. Feeding: Express your desire to breastfeed in the operating room or recovery room. Cord Care: Mention if you plan to keep the placenta. Looking for a compassionate doula who has experience supporting moms with previous infant loss and traumatic birth experiences |
