Expecting my miracle baby after stillbirth. Plan is to deliver at Nebraska Medicine. My birth plan is honestly pretty simple: above everything else, I want to go home with my baby. I’m not attached to having a particular type of birth or having everything go according to a perfect plan. After experiencing loss, getting both of us safely through birth is what matters most to me. At the same time, I know that giving birth again may bring up a lot of emotions, anxiety, and memories from my previous birth. I’m looking for a doula who understands pregnancy and birth after loss and can provide compassionate, trauma-informed support through that experience. I want someone who is comfortable acknowledging my son and understands that grief and excitement can exist at the same time. Experience with pregnancy after loss, stillbirth, high-risk pregnancy, incompetent cervix, and hospital births would be especially important to me. I’m looking for someone who can help me feel grounded, advocate for myself when needed, understand what is happening around me, and feel supported regardless of how my baby ultimately needs to be delivered. I want to feel safe, heard, supported, and leave the hospital with my live, healthy, beautiful baby in my arms this time.
