I am currently searching for a doula and am seeking as much support and guidance as possible during and after my pregnancy. I am due in August, and this will be my second child after a 13-year gap. I’ll be turning 35 this year and have been labeled as “high risk,” which has left me feeling overwhelmed, confused, and honestly terrified. Aside from my age, I have not been given a clear explanation as to why I am considered high risk. My original OB-GYN, who delivered my son, passed away shortly after his birth. Since then, I was assigned to another provider based on availability. Unfortunately, my current doctor no longer delivers babies. He reached out to colleagues on my behalf, but I was denied care and advised to seek a high-risk provider—without being given documentation, clear reasoning, or even a referral to a high-risk OB. At this point, I feel lost not only in finding appropriate medical care for myself and my baby, but also in understanding my pregnancy risks and options. I am seeking a doula who is committed to helping me navigate this journey—someone who can assist with locating reliable medical resources, provide support during delivery in a hospital setting. I am interested in a VBAC, and offer guidance and care postpartum.

Delivering in the birthing center at Mercy in OKC. I am a plus size woman and my blood pressure is slightly elevated. Not labeled as a “high risk” pregnancy. I wanted to go to the midwife program, but my BMI is too high to qualify. I’m wanting a birthing experience that requires very little medical interventions and is as natural as possible. My husband is a people pleaser, so a second person who can help hold boundaries and help show him how he can be helpful would be great! I have no idea on prices or budgeting.
