We plan to deliver at the hospital in Oakland. We are pretty close to the due date, and are hoping to receive birth and postpartum support, with no more than 11 visits. Our birth plan is for vaginal birth, with the use of an epidural. We will defer to our medical team for advice if circumstances make that plan risky or untenable. We do not have a fixed budget as the birthing parent’s insurance covers doula services. The policy (Kaiser) does not explicitly specify price limits but states that it should be within “reasonable market rates”. The policy is also limited to certain primary services and we would like to keep within that range. For example, services NOT covered include massage, help with daily living like shopping and laundry, alternative health practices. I am looking for a night doula for one week ideally two, to help my husband and I with the baby. Someone who speaks English and can also help us with sleep training advice for baby. But the most important would be help with the night so I can rest and recover. My delivery was pretty hard and I ended up in an urgent c cection. This would incredibly help with the recovering.
