Hospitals NEVER listen to concerns or serious problems with me. I need help advocating for myself and understanding everything in a way that isn’t going off of a doctor’s lunch plans. A large example is my experience with severe birth trauma. My first daughter was an emergency C-section due to a car accident I was in. My 2nd daughter was meconium in utero and the doctor didn’t take my clotting disorder seriously to the point I nearly died. I was also put on a spinal block that took 45 minutes to work and it wore off completely before they even started the procedure but failed to document the horrific outcome. My 3rd daughter was planned as a VBAC and I was promised I’d get it, but the doctor claimed that being at 4cm for 1 hour “isn’t considered progressing” despite me still actively progressing and no distress or complications of any kind but she told me that I either get the C-section she pushed or she’d get my children taken from me if I didn’t comply. The spinal block didn’t work whatsoever and I was screaming in unimaginable pain but was told to “get over it” and to “stop being dramatic”. I assumed they gave me something to knock me out but they told me later on that they didn’t. I had remained unconscious for several hours because my body shut down from unnatural pain to that degree. I wasn’t even able to hear my daughter’s first cries. These concerns were brought to her attention prior and I told her she needed to put me under general anesthesia to do the operation but she blatantly refused. I later learned she went against EVERYTHING in my birth plan including my backup in case of a C-section because she “needed more experience”. Now I’ve gone through this pregnancy with extreme complications and have told them repeatedly about needing to be put under with general anesthesia but they aren’t working with me at all. I’m terrified of going through this again and no one seems to listen. They go off the notes of people who lied so they didn’t lose their jobs and it could VERY easily kill me this time due to my medical issues happening currently. I’m more terrified of them not listening and acting appropriately to the situation than I am at the thought of allowing myself to push during contractions and risk my uterus rupturing just to avoid that surgery going wrong AGAIN. I’m planning to give birth at Sister’s Charity Hospital in Buffalo. I need someone who’s covered by my insurance. I can give my birth plan when I match with someone. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

I would like someone with more than 6 years experience and certified. I would need help with breathing techniques and pressure points and helping guide my husband in a home birth. I would want help with the first feeding and making sure our baby latches. I do not want early chord clamping and want the chord to turn white before clamping, I would also like to naturally deliver my placenta on my own. My pregnancy with my first child seven years ago was rushed and forced into a C-section. I’ve always known and felt something was wrong about the way that I had my first child but I am 16 weeks pregnant now more educated and I am looking to have a vbac , I was going the regular route by going to a ob but she has rubbed me the wrong way a few times and I want someone that is going to help me have my baby the natural way I can the first time around. I was robbed out of seeing my husband, cut the umbilical cord skin to skin and even breast-feeding. I know that I can do it and I do not want a doctor to force me to have a C-section if I do not need it just because I had one before that I did not need. I want to either be in contact with someone who can deliver my child for me or send me to providers that can support my decision. I did plan on giving birth at Northside Hospital. I do have Medicaid. I just want a natural birth that I am owed.

Hi Taylor. We are very excited to say we are expecting our first baby August 24th. We live in Cookstown. My in-laws live in Wasaga Beach, and have extra bedrooms to happily support our stay, to be closer, if needed. We are planning to deliver @ Collingwood hospital. We are interested in a birth package. Something that includes some prenatal, labour/birth support. Also would like options for postnatal/postpartum baby care support. Meeting prior to birth, either in person or on zoom would be helpful to make sure we are a good fit. We are open and excited to learn all that you have to shared, to make this a calm, beautiful, peaceful as possible experience for everyone. I would love Support during labor/delivery. Though I will have the support of my other half and my mom holding my hand. I love the idea of having a Doula who has experience with the script, almost like a yoga instructor, to help with guiding through the process, helping with relaxing and all that comes with the beauty of what you do. I’m not sure exactly what I’m looking for, but I’m a first time mom who wants to have a water birth at a hospital.
