Hello! My name is Brenda. I am a Tennessee native, originally from Smithville. However, Livingston and Cookeville have now been my home for 17 years. I am the owner of Mom 2 Mom Doula Services. I am a wife to a wonderful husband, and a mother to 2 beautiful little girls. When I am not assisting women prenatally, in labor or in the initial postpartum period, I am spending time with my family, usually this includes hiking in the many wonderful state parks Tennessee has to offer. My interest in birth started to blossom at the age of 5, when my mother had her first home birth. In that atmosphere I felt at home with the Midwives and Doulas. That feeling only got stronger with my mother's next 2 home births. At age 21, I had my first daughter, unmedicated, in a hospital with an amazing Doula. Her willingness to want to help me however she could, more seriously pushed me towards my goal to become a Doula myself. So in 2018, I started working as a Doula, and then certified sometime later. At age 23, I had my second daughter, at home with the assistance of a home birth Midwife. It was a wonderful experience. Now, I am truly living out my dream, to be able to support women during such an important time in their life. I am so thankful every day for this wonderful career. I have supported women through hospital births of all kinds, home births, water births and everything in between. In 2023 I also got my StillBirthday certification.

I offer hospital, and home birth services. And initial lactation services.
Brenda is incredible. If you’re wondering whether or not to invest in a doula, here is your sign to do it! I learned so much from Brenda about my options for my first baby’s birth, things that may/may not happen during a hospital birth, and how to create a plan that was best for me and that fit with my hopes for labor/delivery. I was able to persevere through an unmedicated birth thanks to Brenda’s calming and strong presence and her knowledge about labor/birth. Even if you’re not sure you want to go unmedicated, it’s so valuable having someone like Brenda who knows birth inside and out and can help you make your birth dreams a reality, as well as advocate for you. I can’t recommend her enough!

I hired Brenda as a doula for the home birth of my second baby. She was super supportive throughout my entire pregnancy and labor which helped me feel totally at ease. I felt like she really spent time getting to know me and my family at each prenatal visit. Her perspective on all of my pregnancy and labor questions, and her presence during my birth were so incredibly valuable. I can’t wait to work with you again in the future, thank you so much Brenda!!!!

She helped with my pregnancy and delivery in 2023. Absolutely phenomenal, could not have done it without her!

Brenda is wonderful. She truly cares about her clients & their babies. She helped me tremendously in early labor, and I credit her for getting me in the right mindset/birth groove before arriving at the hospital. My labor moved very quickly, and even though she was not able to stay at the hospital with me, I heard her pep talks in the back of my mind the entire time. She stayed in contact with me, and came to my house when we went home. (even though I am sure she was exhausted and thought about us the entire night!) She has helped me greatly with breastfeeding tips & gave me encouragement when it got a little bumpy. She always made me feel like I knew what was best for my baby. As a first time mom, being so unsure about everything, Brenda was there every step of the way cheering me on. I love her like family and she is EXCELLENT at what she does.

Brenda is simply amazing at what she does. This is her calling and she pours love and care into each family who is fortunate enough to have her with them on their journey to become parents. Anytime I needed information or support, she was there. During labor when situations can turn quickly, she is watching and supporting and pitching in beautifully to help ensure the best of outcomes. In the often overwhelming postpartum period she is just as warm and supportive. Even if this isn't your first child, having a doula's support is such a blessing and a decision you will never question.
