I need a doula that can attend appointments with me in the third trimester. I’m a high risk pregnancy and the MFM hasnt treated me well.

We will be giving birth at Sentara Leigh Hospital, ideally without an epidural. We are most concerned with getting reasonable sleep for the first 8-13 weeks and would like a night nurse for 4-5 nights a week for the first 4 weeks, and the. 3 nights a week for the next 8-10 weeks depending on the need. Other postpartum services that would be helpful would be some lactation consulting and referrals to Pelvic floor physical therapy and being an advocate for the mother. Estimated budget for a night nurse would be $30-35 an hour for 9 hours a night

To be real, my birth plan is more spiritual.\n I just want to have a calm, relaxed, peaceful birth. I know it's not gonna be easy. I just need better support from healthcare providers based off how my birth was when I was pregnant last, and when I gave birth to my 6 month old, so now that I'm pregnant again, I'm just looking to have a relaxing , peaceful birth experience , really nothing to extravagant. With genuine people who provide natural birth experiences for not on only the child but for the mother as well.

I would prefer a home birth or a birth center. I am looking for very low intervention, skin-on-skin for the first hour after birth, a slower process without all of the bright lights, and very minimal medications. We don’t have an estimated budget yet.

Dear Pippa, My husband Sam and I are expecting our second child in mid September of this year. Sam will take off one week to ten days for paternity leave and then another week or so later in the year. We have a two year old son (Hugo) who will be in school from 8:30 to 1:30 Monday through Friday. I would like to speak with you about our specific needs, but I think it would be something like three days for five hours in the first week I’m home from the hospital, five days for five hours the next week, and then maybe two or three days for four hours the week after that.
