I am a first time mom and would love to have someone there that can advocate for me/help me with any questions I have! I have an amazing husband, but this is new to both of us so we would love to have someone there with all the expertise that can make this process as easy, fun, and enjoyable as possible! I am planning on giving birth at SIU Carbondale. I don’t have a budget in mind. My birth plan is still being created.

My husband & I just moved to Paducah from St. Louis, I had wanted to give birth at a birth center, but there aren't any around. This is my first pregnancy, we're very excited. So I am looking for support, information, and help to have a birth with as least intervention as possible. I believe in the woman's body being equipped with all it needs to do things naturally (of course there are exceptions). We just met with Baptist Health, I have not viewed their labor and delivery but it is seeming like there are limited options, perhaps a doula could help me understand better my options around here.

* I plan to give birth at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City in Tennessee. * I don’t have an estimated budget currently just nothing extremely expensive. * I do not have an all around birth plan currently that is why I am in seeking a doula. * My requirements for the provider would be some variation of a certification from a reputable organization like: DONA International, CAPPA, or ICEA, 1–2 years or 10 or more births attended, support hospital birth, dealt with pregnancies similar to mine, communication and personality, not pushy about “natural only” or anti-hospital views, and a Christian if possible. * I have no specific details I prefer about my care recipients as in age, special needs, feeding, etc. I am 19 years old and I just prefer someone who is nonjudgmental, kind, genuine, and overall helpful. * Any additional duties would be making me feel comfortable with any awkwardness, praying over me and the unit, setting up the delivery room just making it comfortable and safe like home. * My estimated budget would be between $500 – $1,200. Preferably $800 maximum.

I want a dula because I need someone to educate me and my husband on pregnancy, labor, and after birth. I need someone to stand by me who knows the laws of the hospital just in case something were to happen and I have to give birth in the hospital but my goal now is to have my baby at home with my midwife and dula I hire.

I will be giving birth in a hospital. However, I don’t have a birth plan yet. Which is one of the reason I would like a doula. As for a budget, I was hoping someone would take insurance or would be able to work thangs out through my insurance.

Hi, I’m going to be a first time mom! As I am super excited and starting to plan my near future, I am also trying to navigate how I want my birthing experience to go. I know that I would like to have a hospital birth, which I believe I have found the perfect hospital for me. As of right now I am still researching this and that. Meaning, there are so many different birthing experiences. I’m sure everyone has their dream ideal labor and delivery story to which some come true and some do not. I am fully aware anything can happen but before we go there, I do have an “ideal” way I’d like to see my labor going. I would very much prefer an unmedicated birth. My main goal is no epidural. I do have a few different reasons as to why I don’t want it, but that is something we can always get into later if you’d like! I should also mention again, this is my goal! If at any point I get to a point during labor where I absolutely want it or feel that I need it, if able to, I will change my mind. I also would love to stay away from Pitocin as long as possible as long as there are no complications etc. of course if the labor is getting dangerous for me or baby, I understand. I am also hoping as my doula (when we find each other!) you will help me understand more about these. As long as things go as planned, I plan on my mother and boyfriend being present during my labor and birth. I also hope I can add another amazing support person to the list! Someone that will 110% advocate for me if and when needed, and Someone that will keep me updated and educated! I hope to speak soon, thank you!

My preferred birth method is a Trial of Labor after 2 Cesarean Sections. I had a very difficult time with my last elective c-section. I had a spinal fluid leak, required several medications and a blood patch, and mentally struggled with coping. I thought I was okay with another c-section, however, I ended up deeply regretting following through. I did have signs of labor approaching (contractions, losing mucus plug), but had a c-section at exactly 40 weeks. I would be okay with another c section if medically necessary. If the facility allows, I’d like to then do a maternal-assisted cesarean section.

Plan to give birth at hospital with as minimal interventions as possible, vaginal birth if possible, want alternative birthing positions, Plan on having pain management but epidural only if necessary.

And do it as natural as possible and only go to the hospital if there are serious complications that need more medical intervention

I pick up on people’s energy very easily, so I would like to find someone calm and reassuring. I am especially interested in pain relief strategies!!!
