I plan to give birth at Advocate Sherman in Elgin IL. I don’t have an exact budget, an I would just like someone aside from my husband who is able to speak up for me and assist me with laboring the way I want to. I also have major anxiety about postpartum because I suffered the loss of my first born at a month old.

Hello, My name is Megumi and I’m writing this inquiry from Japan. My sister who lives in Illinois gave a birth the day before yesterday. Since I live overseas and unable to fly out there for the time being to help her I’m trying to figure out a way I could be of any support for my sister even if I’m physically away. One of the few things could be to help find her an experienced doula since she and he husband are too busy looking after their baby and helping each other now. Not sure what kind of requirements my sister would need but based on my own experience when I had a doula here in Tokyo about 5 years ago I think someone definitely with certification and several years of experience would be a must, and also being able to cook and do basic house cleaning would be ideal. What’s average doula fee is like there? I only had one in Japan so have no idea.

I am currently planning to give birth at cdh. I’m not sure what an appropriate budget for a doula is so I guess I’m interested in rates. I'm 26 years old and a first-time mom, feeling a bit overwhelmed since I don't have experience with motherhood. I'm looking for support from Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and hoping to find a free doula to assist me with my newborn during my postpartum period, as I don't work and can't afford extra help. My goal is to have a natural vaginal birth without using an epidural. I have a Meridian Health plan. Looking for a postpartum doula to help after the baby is born for just 2-3 hours.

Hi! I wanted to share a little about the support I’m hoping for during labor. I’d really like to try for an unmedicated birth if possible, so having help with breathing, positioning, and counter pressure during contractions would mean a lot. My priorities are being able to move freely, delivering in the position I choose, delayed cord clamping, and keeping interventions minimal if everything is safe. I’d also love a calm, dark, peaceful environment. My pregnancy has IUGR, so there’s a chance I may need to deliver earlier than expected. I’m hoping for someone who can support me emotionally, help advocate for me if needed, and also guide my partner on how he can best support me during labor.
