About me

Hello, I am Charlotte and I am the owner of Birth Barista, LLC. I am a mother to four adult daughters, and one tween. Yep you read that right, I have five daughters. I have been with my very supportive husband since 1999 and we just celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. Our family loves going on new adventures. We do lots of things like hiking waterfalls, mining for gems and minerals, and we love seeing the world by cruising. As far as birth work, it has always been in my blood. As far back as I can remember I have been passionate about infant care, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and parenting. I have spent the majority of my adult life as a stay at home mom, as well as being a nanny. I know that being a Doula and supporting expecting families is what I am called to do. My qualifications are.....AA in Medical Administration, Certified Labor Doula- ProDoula, Childbirth International, and, Expert Rating, Certified Postpartum Doula-ProDoula, and Rebozo Arts- Womb Wisdom. As a doula, I am committed to providing unwavering support to all families, embracing diversity, and celebrating love in its many forms. Regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, age, or cultural background, I honor each family I serve. My goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels empowered, supported, and valued throughout their birth and postpartum experience.

Service introduction

During pregnancy and after, you may have lots of questions regarding tests and procedures that are done for the birthing parent as well as your newborn. I am here to help provide evidence based answers to those questions. I will also provide emotional support as you navigate this beautiful transition into parenthood. During labor and birth I can help you cope with the pain of contractions with position changes, use of a birth ball, massage, and other techniques. If you have a birth partner(s), and they would like, I can show them ways they can help you as well. I will also be there to help empower you so you can make informed decisions during your labor that are right for you and your family. A doula is not only beneficial to the birthing parent. I also support those friends or family you may have with you during the labor and birth as well. I will provide them the means to take breaks when they may need them without the fear of leaving the birthing parent alone. I am here for whatever you need to feel supported. If you are planning on breastfeeding and would like some help with latching and positioning, I can help you with that as well. Once everyone is back home and settling in I will come and we will talk about how the birth went. We can talk about any feelings you may be having about how things went. I will also be here to help in other ways. I can pick up a grocery order, help the birthing parent get into a shower, take care of the baby while the parents nap, or even do some light housekeeping like washing a load of laundry or washing up some dishes. My goal is to make things as easy as possible so you can bond with your baby. Should you want or need continued support, we can put together an additional package for postpartum support for an amount of time that is right for you.
