About me

Hi! I’m Claire Kagan: a yoga teacher, birth doula, and Ayurvedic postpartum doula with a background in Social Work (LMSW) and a holistic mindset around health, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I always say that I like to think of a doula as a birth-focused social worker! I bring in my background as a social worker and skills as a doula to provide education around the birth process, empower you to be your own self-advocate, and work with you to make sure that all of your needs are met and your wishes are honored, before, during, and after birth. I’ll create an ambiance that keeps you comfortable during labor with candles, lighting, music, essential oils, massage, breath, meditation, and movement. I’ll stay by your side throughout labor, reminding you how amazing and powerful you are, and helping you work with your body to bring your baby earth side. No matter what kind of birth you envision, I’ll support you every single step of the way, ensuring that you always feel safe, seen, held, and loved.

I offer private prenatal and postpartum yoga, full birth doula support, hourly postpartum support, and Ayurvedic postpartum care, all from a trauma-informed and Health-at-every-size informed framework. I always customize my services to fit your family’s needs, so we can work together to build any combination of the services I offer. I’m so excited to support you throughout this journey!

Birth Doula Support

• 2 Prenatal visits to go over birth plan, comfort measures, preparing for birth and baby, and alllll the feelings! • Weekly email updates for 10 weeks before your due date with reading and educational resources • 10 Weekly guided meditations to prepare you for birth • Available anytime via text and email • On-call 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after due date • Virtual support during early labor • Hands-on support during active labor • No time limit! I’m here for you, as long as it takes • 1-2 hours of support after delivery • Backup doula on-call (just in case!) • Care package to take home • 1 postpartum visit to check in and reminisce about your beautiful birth! *If my listed price is above your budget, please still reach out to me! Through my partnership with Elephant Circle, the cost of your birth doula care can be partially or fully covered.

Ayurvedic Specialized Postpartum Care

• 6 weeks of fully customized Ayurvedic support after birth • Grocery shopping for all of the ingredients you need each week, sourced from high-quality, organic, sustainable sources • I will visit your home 1-2 days per week to deliver: 1 day of meals each week completely prepared for you, plus a meal plan including recipes, detailed instructions, and ingredients prepped and portioned for you/your support person to prepare throughout the week; A full week’s worth of herbal supplements to support your rejuvenation and healing; Herbal oil massage; Herbal/floral bath; Belly binding; A consultation to go over how you can support your healing using daily rituals/routines aligned with Ayurveda, and weekly check-ins about how it’s going • All ingredients are stored and prepared using nontoxic materials • I’m always available by text or phone to answer questions about your care! *The listed price includes all groceries and supplies *Can be personalized – option to purchase one week at a time, or purchase only the components of the plan that resonate with you.
