Synia’s Unmediated Birth Plan My Birth Philosophy 💕 I believe birth is a natural, powerful process. I trust my body and my baby to work together. I want to avoid unnecessary interventions and create a peaceful, supportive environment for my baby’s arrival. ⸻ 💫 Labor Preferences No Epidural I plan to labor and give birth without medical pain relief so I can stay aware and connected to my body’s natural rhythm. No Pitocin / Avoid Induction I prefer my labor to begin and progress naturally, without medications to start or speed it up, unless there is a medical emergency. Move Freely I want to be able to walk, squat, or change positions during labor to stay comfortable and help labor progress naturally. Water for Comfort I’d like access to a warm shower or birthing tub, as warm water helps ease pain and relax muscles. Minimal Cervical Checks I prefer to limit vaginal exams during labor unless medically necessary, to reduce discomfort and risk of infection. Dim Lights & My Labor Playlist I would like a calm, soothing atmosphere with low lights and my music playing to help me stay relaxed. Massage / Counterpressure My partner may use massage or gentle pressure on my lower back and hips to relieve tension and pain. Birth Ball I’d like to use a birth ball to encourage proper baby positioning and comfort during contractions. ⸻ 📸 Memories & Recording Record and Photograph the Birth I would like my birth to be recorded and photographed as much as possible to capture these special moments. My care team has permission to use our phones and/or a video camera (if available) to take photos and videos of the labor, delivery, and first moments with our baby. This includes candid pictures during labor, the birth itself, and moments immediately after. ⸻ 🩺 Monitoring & Interventions Intermittent Monitoring I prefer my baby’s heartbeat to be checked periodically instead of being continuously monitored, so I can move freely. Minimal Vaginal Exams Similar to cervical checks — I’d like them limited to reduce discomfort and unnecessary interruption. No Artificial Rupture of Membranes I prefer my water (amniotic sac) to break naturally rather than being manually ruptured by staff, unless medically needed. ⸻ 🤱 Delivery Preferences No Episiotomy I prefer natural stretching and tearing over a surgical cut unless absolutely required for baby’s safety. Position Changes While Pushing I’d like to change positions (squatting, side-lying, hands-and-knees, etc.) to find what feels most effective and comfortable. Want Dad to Help Deliver Baby If possible, I’d like my partner to assist with the delivery and be an active part of catching or welcoming our baby. ⸻ 👶 After Birth Delayed Cord Clamping Please wait until the umbilical cord stops pulsing and turns white before cutting it, allowing the baby to receive extra oxygen-rich blood. Dad Cuts the Cord I want my partner to cut the cord once it’s completely white, symbolizing our baby’s smooth transition. Immediate Skin-to-Skin Place my baby directly on my chest after birth to encourage bonding, warmth, and stable breathing. Early Breastfeeding I plan to start breastfeeding as soon as possible after birth to promote bonding and milk flow. Delay Newborn Procedures I prefer to delay standard newborn procedures (like weighing) until after bonding time — or have Dad accompany baby if they must be done sooner. ⸻ 🏥 If a Cesarean Becomes Necessary Avoiding C-Section I do not want a cesarean unless it’s truly life-saving for me or my baby. Partner Present If a cesarean is required, I want my partner to remain by my side throughout. Skin-to-Skin in OR If possible, I’d like skin-to-skin contact immediately after delivery, even in the operating room. ⸻ 💕 Thank You Thank you to my care team for supporting my birth preferences and helping me bring my baby into the world safely, calmly, and naturally. |

Emma is looking for Postpartum Doula, Birth Doula, Mental Health Therapist
|
Location: Lethbridge, AB T1J 5J4, Canada
Due date or baby's birthday: April 05, 2026
Im looking into what my options are for a doula in Lethbridge that maybe our insurance could cover the cost of? I don’t have a budget because we don’t really have extra funds to pay out of pocket so I’m mostly wondering if finding someone we can afford is even possible. I am planning on giving birth in lethbridge at the hospital, my dream is to be able to have a water birth or at least using a tub through labor and I hope to avoid getting an epidural. Other than that I don’t have much of a birth plan but hope a doula could help me know what to plan for and ask the questions I’ll need answers for! |

Im planning an at home water birth at a family members house along the ocean in campbell river, bc. I have a midwife team- "Team Ocean"- and I want it to be as calming, natural, spiritual as possible. I'd like to avoid the hospital as much as possible, that being said i am also 39 years old and this is our first. Im just looking for guidance for ease and wonder what sort of costs having a doula would be. |

Melodee is looking for Postpartum Doula, Birth Doula
|
Location: Coalhurst, AB T0L, Canada
Due date or baby's birthday: May 16, 2026
I will be giving birth at the chinook Lethbridge hospital in Alberta. This is my second kid, first birth experience was extremely traumatic for me. I spent 3 days in hospital getting induced, 12 hours of labour after my water broke, pushed for an hour, then emergency c section. I need someone knowledgeable that can vouch for me, coach me, and help my husband be more supportive. My birth plan is natural, most likely getting an epidural, and my budget is around $650 |

I will be giving birth at the Wray Hospital in Colorado. I am looking for someone to support and coach me through my first minimally assisted birth. Liza is looking for Postpartum Doula
|
Location: Calgary, AB T3S 0B1, Canada
Due date or baby's birthday: December 12, 2025
Hello, I am urgently seeking an available Postpartum Doula to start within the next few days. I am having a scheduled C-section tomorrow, Friday, December 12th, as my baby is breech. I am looking for in-home support primarily to ensure I can rest and recover from the surgery while taking care of the new baby. My Family & Situation: Location: Rangeview in the SE. Family: New baby and a 4-year-old toddler who attends daycare every weekday (M-F). Feeding Plan: Planning to breastfeed. The Support I Need: I am looking for support that helps me focus on healing and bonding. This would primarily include: Light household support: Tidy-up, running a load of laundry, etc. Simple meal preparation: Light snacks and quick meals. General help/assistance: Helping me stay rested, fetching things, managing small tasks, and helping with the baby while I rest. Ideal Schedule: I am flexible but would ideally like: 3-4 hours per day for the first 1-2 weeks (or whatever consistent schedule works best). Following the initial two weeks, I would likely transition to fewer hours or days per week. If you have immediate availability and this sounds like the type of support you offer, please reach out right away! Thank you very much. |

1. Where do you plan to give birth (home/hospital)? Hospital. 2. Provide your estimated budget Our estimated budget for doula support is $1,500. We are most interested in meaningful support that focuses on emotional reassurance, breastfeeding guidance, and helping us adjust during the early postpartum period. 3. Describe your birth plan This is my first baby, so I’m keeping my birth plan flexible and open-minded. My main goal is to feel calm, supported, and informed throughout the process. I plan to give birth in a hospital and would like to aim for a low-intervention birth if possible, while fully trusting medical guidance if plans need to change. Emotional support and reassurance are very important to me, especially as someone who can feel anxious in new situations. My priorities include: Feeling supported and advocated for during labor My partner being involved and supported as well Skin-to-skin contact after birth if possible Support with early breastfeeding and latching A calm, positive environment that helps reduce stress and overwhelm I value guidance, reassurance, and gentle encouragement over a rigid birth plan, and I’m looking for support that helps me feel confident as I transition into motherhood. |
