I am looking for a doula that can support me during birth and postpartum. I am located in Alameda and will likely be giving birth at the San Leandro Kaiser or Oakland Kaiser if I find the right doula. I currently have Kaiser and have confirmed that my insurance does cover doula support. I plan on birthing at the hospital, and I will be using pain medication to support me. I'm mostly looking for advocacy due to a traumatic birth experience at Kaiser Oakland, where they kept trying to push a C-section and tore my water without consent.

We’re hoping for support in preparing thoughtful and flexible birth preferences ahead of time, comfort and education throughout labor/birth, helping to hold our birth plan with the medical team during labor/birth, and guiding us through the unpredictability of labor so we can stay present with eachother/body/baby and make informed decisions as they come. Also curious about your openness to capture photo/video during birth. We are also interested in postpartum support, though we’re still learning and exploring what might be most resourcing, but are especially interested in breastfeeding support, settling into life at home, and support with my physical recovery. I am located in Southern California in the Irvine area. My husband is in the military and is currently deployed. He most likely will not be able to be at the birth of our son. Because of that I will be giving birth in Napa California at Queen of the valley hospital. I have tricare and hope to get the doula services covered through my insurance. I am giving birth at a hospital and would like to have a natural birth without an epidural if possible. I want to have the freedom to move around and walk, stretch, shower to distract my mind versus being stuck to the bed after a shot. I would like to support in what moves and stretches to achieve this goal.
