Hi! I’m a mom of two boys, a wife, and a professionally trained postpartum doula living in beautiful Marin County, California. My passion for helping mothers during the postpartum period sprang from my own postpartum experience with my first child. I focused so much attention and preparation on my pregnancy and birth that when it came time to take care of my new baby, I was completely overwhelmed. I felt alone, isolated and in over my head. Had I had a compassionate and skilled postpartum doula come into my home to help me process my birth story, help me feed my baby, and allow me to rest and recover properly, my postpartum period would have been so much easier— perhaps even enjoyable! The first six weeks after giving birth is a vulnerable time for new mothers. They need just as much love, attention and support as their new babies— which isn’t a concept that is widely embraced in our society. That is where I can step in and bridge the gap of care for moms and families. I provide a listening ear without judgement, a second set of hands, and evidence-based resources and referrals so families can thrive in the fourth trimester.

I am here to help you when you are unsure what to do next with your children. My specialties include tantruming toddlers, troubled teens, and students with IEPs. My decade-plus of working with students with emotional disturbances and learning-disabilities gives me a valuable insight into the IEP process. I’ve worked with incarcerated minors and students in a residential drug rehabilitation center, and have experience working with non-traditional families and those with separated parents. I also have experience raising children in my own family. I meet with you at your home and can attend IEP meetings with you and your family. I believe that the whole family, children and parents, need to be involved to help strengthen and renew family bonds. I am a wife, mother, educator, and doula. I love the challenge and beauty of birth. I have decided to follow my passion and calling in life as a birth doula. It is so important that families feel supported, respected, and cared for as they welcome their child(ren) to the world. In addition, those first few weeks after the birth are very tender, emotional, and draining. I want to help lead my clients to positive transitions into parenthood. This happens when we work as a team and collaborate on what makes a healthy birth and postpartum experience for YOU.

My journey started when I finished my studies in early childhood education in Brazil and worked with children of all ages including children with emotional and behavioral disorders. One day I had a opportunity to help my friend on her postpartum and I felt so helpful and happy to give her the love and support she needed. After that I immersed myself in the world of motherhood, I felt so passionate and became a postpartum doula. I also had the amazing experience when I had my own sunshine boy, and being a mother is so unique and wonderful but also very challenging. Today I am so accomplished to do my job as a postpartum doula! I know the importance of having a Doula to help, and support a mother and family in their pre-birth, delivery and also in the difficulties encountered in the postpartum journey.

Having Katherine’s support during the first six weeks with my premature baby was truly invaluable. My little one struggled with reflux, and Katherine’s patience and expertise made a huge difference. She took great care in holding my baby upright for 30 minutes after each feeding, which helped tremendously. Her knowledge, gentle approach, and reliability provided a great sense of reassurance. I’m incredibly grateful for her help and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to any family in need of newborn care.

My name is Shante, and I am passionately dedicated to guiding women through the transformative journey of childbirth as a birth Doula. With an unwavering commitment to empowering women, I have made it my mission to ensure that every woman I support enters motherhood with confidence, informed choices, and a positive birth experience. One of my areas of expertise is hospital birth, emotional support, and the labor techniques. By skillfully assisting mothers in optimizing fetal positioning, I enhance their chances of a smoother and more comfortable labor. This technique aligns with my commitment to ensuring that the birthing process is as natural and harmonious as possible. In addition, I am well-versed in Hypno-Birthing, a practice that harnesses the power of the mind-body connection to alleviate fear and discomfort during labor. Beyond the physical aspects of childbirth, I recognize the paramount importance of emotional and mental support. I stand by each woman's side as an encouraging voice, providing a safe space for her to express her feelings and fears. My role extends beyond the birthing process itself, encompassing the entire spectrum of emotions that come with the transition to motherhood. As a birth Doula, my commitment to women's well-being goes beyond a profession – it is my calling. I am driven by the knowledge that I have the privilege to make a profound impact on the lives of both mothers and their newborns. My ultimate goal is to facilitate an experience that is not only empowering but also sets the foundation for a strong and nurturing bond between mother and child. I am here to provide guidance, support, and advocacy.

I believe that motherhood is not meant to be survived, but to be spent thriving. I take a compassionate, educated, thorough and parent-supportive approach with families. I am a passionate mama with a love for children and I am committed to helping parents. When it comes to sleep, my motto is “do not suffer in silence”, you and your baby deserve healthy sleep, and I am here to help!

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Anne as our sleep coach, and she completely changed our lives! When my son was about 4 months old, he would only nap if he was held and had a string of other sleep crutches he relied on to stay or fall asleep. It was really important to me that he developed independent sleeping skills as I would be returning to work soon. From our very initial phone call, Anne was patient, kind and supportive. She answered my (very many) questions with patience and knowledge. Once we decided to move forward with coaching, Anne was very accessible and supportive through the entire process. I was so nervous about my baby "crying it out," but in working with Anne, I learned that there are so many other aspects of sleep training a baby and there is so much more beyond just a child crying to sleep. After our time together, she instilled so much confidence in me as a new mother, and was priceless. If you're thinking about working with a sleep coach, you will not find a better person to guide you through this journey than Anne! The only thing you may regret is not working with her sooner! She's so passionate about what she does, and genuinely cares about mothers - she shows this in every conversation that I've had with her. She helped me teach my son a lifelong skill, and we found a wonderful friend.
