I would like a Christian Doula who is able to attend our home birth for our third child. We have a midwife who will also be attending the birth. The goal is to have a peaceful environment with as little medical intervention as possible, utilizing massage, relaxation, and mindset work to create the best experience possible.
Hospital Vbac after an emergency csection Pregnant with bad anxiety from previous birth
I plan to give birth in a hospital since I couldn’t get a Midwife but desire a low intervention, natural birth experience. My priority is feeling safe, respected, and supported with minimal exams and clear consent for any procedures. Budget is moderate and flexible for the right supportive match. I want a doula who can advocate for my preferences, help maintain a calm environment, support natural pain-coping techniques, and involve my husband as an active support person.
I’ve had 2 c sections but I want a vba2c so I want someone who can help support and advocate for this, someone who can coach well and communicate with me, I don’t want anything with crystals or yoga- I need straight forward and compassionate, I had back labour my first birth and baby face up- got to 9cm at home and transferred for c section where I stopped dilating, second was potentially misdiagnosed choloistasis of pregnancy- I did a c section out of fear of hearing my baby could be stillborn if we didn’t move asap… I’m trying to work on a birth plan and I would like a doulas involvement, I want to know what’s available and what I can do to make the best choice
I fled an abusive relationship in Alberta to come here with my 22 month old. I mostly just dont want to be alone in the hospital. My dad will have my son that is all I here. I was able to have a doula for my first pregnancy and had a lovely experience!
Hi there, my name is Jenny- may I am a single mama to soon to be 5 children. I’m currently 17 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my 5th baby and moving to the Cobourg area. I have been having the hardest time finding a midwife that has availability to assist me with my planned home birth ( waitlisted everywhere) or not in the catchment. I have spoke with some other doulas and friends and have decided that I’m open to an unassisted home birth if necessary. It had come to my attention that there is a term called Traditional Birth Assistants who are not medical professionals but perhaps have more experience with the birth process. It is my understanding that these Birth assistants are typically found by word of mouth. I was wondering if you had any knowledge of anyone practicing this in the Cobourg or surrounding areas?
I would like to have labour at home but currently don’t have a midwife. So as of right now I will be having the baby in a hospital. I am looking to have an unmedicated birth but this will be my first time. I need guidance and reassurance. I’m looking for either a doula or midwife, who if possible is able to speak both English and Spanish but is not a requirement. I’m 29 , currently 21 weeks. I have two health concerns such as hypothyroidism (currently medicated) and a high chance of getting preeclampsia (currently on medication for prevention). This is my second pregnancy and my first pregnancy and labour (natural / medicated) went fairly smooth with no complications. My budget for a doula: $2000

I will be giving birth in a hospital. I want as natural as possible and the freedom to move about during labor. I want someone who will be able to advocate for me and my needs/wants when I am unable or being pressured by doctors. I also want someone to help with main management and giving me strategies to use throughout labor. I am not sure of my budget.
