Hello, I am actually a doula (a newbie) working in Southeast Ohio. I was recently contacted by a couple in Athens Ohio who are looking for a doula, but they are both deaf. I do not know ASL, so I am searching for other doulas in Ohio who may have the skills to communicate with them and support them more effectively and who are willing to travel to Athens. Help keep the birth plan in tact during baby delivery

Hi there! I am planning to give birth at a hospital and have a very flexible birth plan. Doula care is covered in my insurance (BlueCross BlueShield CareNow) and that is where most of the budget is coming from. My main concern with my birth plan is that the baby and I are both safe and healthy. I do have some anxiety around birth and something going wrong, so emotional support is a must for me. My husband and I are first-time parents so I know that he would also like support as he will be my main support system. We do not plan on having any other visitors in the hospital.

I'm planning on giving birth in a hospital. Our budget is $1800. I don't have a birthplan yet because it's so early and also I think I need to reevaluate from #1. This is baby #2 for us.

I’ve always gone through experiences where I am told not to push, or it’s not time to push, or let’s regulate your pain when I knew it was time to give birth especially for babies #4 & #5. My last birth was extremely traumatic I went in and baby was crowning and I was told not to push for 4 hours and baby was then forced out when her heart rate dropped. Her collarbone was broken during labor and nothing was done. I would like to have a peaceful and happy experience as my last one
