Hello, My name is Liana. I have gestational diabetes and am currently on insulin. Me and my husband plan on having the baby at the hospital-vaginally if possible. My health insurance-Horizon NJ health- told me about new doula services they provide (I'm not really sure how it works or how to sign up). I have 2 kids-an 8 year old and a 2 year old I care for. I worry that as I get further along my pregnancy going grocery shopping, attending 2-3 appointments weekly, and other physical activities all with my 2 year old would start emotionally and physically draining me. My husband helps me in the morning when he can but leaves early afternoon for work.

I plan on giving birth at home I would also like a doula to keep me company during pregnancy

Hi! We are in Orefield Pa (near Fogelsville). We are due May 24th with our 3rd baby. We have a 4 and 2 year old boy. We are looking for what I suppose is called a “sibling doula” that could provide care for our boys on an on-call basis when my wife goes into labor. We have family coming up from Maryland to watch them but it will of course take some time between when my wife goes to the hospital to when they can arrive. Is this a service you can provide? I am a 40 year old, pregnant for the first time. Other than my “advanced age” I’m otherwise very healthy. Normal BMI, active, no preconditions. I would like to have a relaxed, minimally medicalized, minimally invasive birth but due to my age, I fear that will be not respected. I am also limited by my insurance to deliver at Yale New Haven Hospital. I would like to have someone who’s an advocate for me, and someone consistent to support me throughout my pregnancy, birth and postpartum. (My current OB doesn’t deliver, which means it’ll happen w whoever is on call). I’m not sure of my budget, as I don’t know what is typical, but I am a postdoc w a fixed income. I will also likely have to take unpaid leave after birth.
