Hello! I am a first time mom-to-be looking for a doula after hearing how great it is to have one. My budget is around $1500 and I would be having the baby at Mont fort hospital. I would ideally like to have a vaginal birth with epidural. Not much else planned. I need guidance on how and what to prepare for. I live in Gatineau.

Hello, I am a Canadian citizen abroad and am 5 months pregnant. I am now doing this pregnancy alone and decided to come back to Canada and am having a hard time finding a midwife. Open to both public and private and just want great care for this birth and pregnancy and post partum. I would like to birth at home or at the birth centre.

I will be going to St. Joseph’s hospital in Hamilton. Our budget would be around $1,500-$2,000. My ideal birth plan would be a vaginal birth with my husband there with my doula. Listening to music would be great but I don’t want other unnecessary noises and people present if they don’t need to be. I don’t want my water artificially broken and I do not want to be induced if it can be avoided. I do want an epidural for pain management. I would like delayed cord cutting and to have my baby spend the golden hour with me after they are born. I do not want an episiotomy or things like forceps to be used to deliver my baby if it can be avoided. I want the process to be as calm as possible.

At this point I don’t really have a birth plan aside from giving birth at the hospital. I don’t know if I want an epidural or not. I really am just looking for someone outside of my drs office to be a support person for the remainder of my pregnancy and postpartum.

I plan to give birth at UVA in Charlottesville, Virginia. I would like a Doula to meet me in my home before I go into the hospital. I’m in Piney River, Virginia, which is 45 minutes to an hour from Charlottesville. I would like to labor as long as possible at home to need somebody who can help me to labor at home, but to know when to go in to the hospital, I would like a natural low intervention birth. I would like somebody to help me with breathing in different massages and pain coping mechanisms for labor I would like somebody to advocate for me at the hospital for the things that I find important. It may not be able to stand up for while laboring and delivering. And do not have a budget at this time
