Hi! I’m interested in doula support for my hospital birth. I don’t have a full birth plan yet, but I know I want a natural birth experience — no epidural or medications, just a calm and supportive environment. I’m also currently on Medicaid, so I wanted to check if you accept that or offer any options for clients who have it. I’d love to learn more about your approach and see if we might be a good fit. We plan to give birth at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Unsure about budget. Unsure about birth plan. We are so new to this.

Looking for a midwife for potential home-birth. First time pregnancy, prefer a Christian based midwife and doula. Lots of questions to be asked and we do not know where to start or how it works. In need of doula services for going into labor and delivery. Previous back surgery and hardware in my back yet I was able to deliver naturally with my first. It still was somewhat traumatic in a lot of ways like giving birth on my back, pain, blood loss and tearing. They kept me for almost 4 days to make sure I was okay. I came out of it pretty dizzy and almost fainting trying to walk to the bathroom. If there is any additional support I can get I need to try. Budget is around 500-1000. Hopefully insurance or payment plans are available. Im also looking for an acupuncturist to manage my pain. I have a toddler at home that will be missing her mommy if I cant show up for her and new baby as need be. Breastfeeding also puts me in severe pain with my back and I need to be able to manage it postpartum with continuing treatment. So far ive had medical massage 3 times with my pregnancy to manage my sciatica and it has helped immensely. Looking to expand on my pain management in these last 2 months and going forward with the right guidance and someone with years of experience.

Hospital unsure about a budget it’s complicated

I am having a hospital birth due to being considered "high-risk," but I'd like as natural an experience as possible and want my wants and needs to be taken seriously. From what I've seen doulas cost around $1.5k, so I'm willing to pay around that amount. I want as few interventions as possible and to not be pressured into anything (epidural, inducement, etc.). I would like to be able to choose what positions I'm most comfortable in during birth rather than being forced onto my back, if possible. I do not want to be forced into an unnecessary c-section or the birth rushed. Unless the baby is in a real emergency, I want the baby to have skin-to-skin contact with me immediately after birth. I do not want the baby to be given a pacifier whatsoever. I intend to breastfeed.
