Hello, dear mama, DoulaVitaB ,I am a wife, mother to two, and grandma to two. With over twenty years in the medical field, I have always been drawn to caring for others, but becoming a doula was my true calling. Why do I do this? It is my belief that every mother should have someone by her side. My only goal is for you to experience your ideal birth, whatever that looks like for you. Care, intuition, and confidence are what I bring to you. I'm here to support you, provide compassionate, judgement-free care, and help you make the choices that feel right for you.

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. I am a Full-Spectrum Doula, Childbirth Educator, Placenta Specialist, Herbalist, and Certified Lactation Educator. I have been attending births since 2005 and have been honored to witness over 420 births to date. I am certified as a Full-Spectrum Doula through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. I am certified to teach childbirth education through BACE-NMC and am a Certified Lactation Educator through CAPPA. I identify as Queer/Bi and I am bi-lingual in Spanish. As a mom to 15 children (14 living), I’ve walked through the beauty, challenges, and sacredness of motherhood. My journey into the world of birth work started with my own experiences—each birth unique, each story deeply personal. Through those moments, I realized how crucial it is to have a steady, knowledgeable, and compassionate guide by your side, and I felt called to be that guide for others.

I am no stranger to the learning curve of parenthood! I am committed to helping new families find their true north on this life-changing journey. I strive to validate and fulfill a family’s birth preferences through evidence based education, access to quality perinatal care, and personal empowerment. I let my intuition, expansive knowledge, and instinct guide my hands-on support style, and help create a nurturing environment that fosters confidence, self-advocacy, and love. I aspire to give birthing individuals and families the space to be themselves to create deep connections during this beautiful, miraculous and vulnerable time.
