Facilitated by Edoukou Aka-Ezoua and Ari Eisen Spring Class Series - Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm March 4, 11, 18, 25 This interactive, evidence-based childbirth education series is also designed for expectant parents and their support people. It will help you feel confident, informed, and prepared for your unique labor and birth experience. This class creates a safe, affirming space for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ families to learn and feel supported. By the end of the class, you'll have a deeper understanding of: The basics of pregnancy anatomy and birth physiology The stages + process of labor and what to expect Labor positions to support progress and optimal fetal positioning Comfort measures for every type of birth + partner support skills How to navigate the medical system with confidence and practice self-advocacy in any birth setting Informed decision-making around common interventions and newborn care procedures Postpartum tips to ease your recovery This class fosters a non-hierarchical, participant-focused learning environment that honors your goals, energy, and autonomy. Through a mix of lecture, interactive activities, movement practices, and hands-on experience, you'll gain practical skills and knowledge to make informed decisions, advocate for your needs, and feel empowered as you prepare for your birth. To honor the individual needs of the participants and due to the interactive nature of the class, space is limited to 5 expectant parents + one support person (10 total participants). Parents who identify as queer/LGBTQ+ can schedule an optional, included one-on-one session with Ari to brainstorm and write their birth plan/preferences + decisions

My job as your doula is to provide holistic and comprehensive doula care that acknowledges the physical, mental, social, and spiritual factors that can impact the birth and postpartum journey. I practice from a person centered perspective where your needs, values, agency, and desires are at the forefront. Whether you're birthing in a hospital or at home, or just need someone to hold your baby so you can take some time for yourself, my job is to help you feel supported and care for in your perinatal journey so you can thrive.
