Hi there, I live in Abbotsford and I’m interested in hiring a postpartum doula (night time) to help with the first few wks of baby care. I plan on giving birth at the regional hospital, and will try to keep things as natural as possible.
I plan to give birth at Ridge Meadows Hospital. There is a possibility of going to another hospital should Ridge Meadows be on a divergent schedle the day I go into labour. Once I am cleared from the hospital my husband and I will be staying with my parents in North Delta for approximately 40 days. Once this time period is complete we will be back in our home in Maple Ridge. This is my husband and I's first baby and we have hope that being with my parents will be helpful, but we would also appreciate the support of people who have specialized knowledge and perspectives other than our own. I am not certain of the cost of these support systems or how charges are done, but would appreciate if there is someone who may be able to submit to extended health particularly through Great West / Canada Life. My birth plan, at its basics is, Natural, vaginal, unmediated aside from laughing gas. I intend to take it slow and easy and allow my body to guide me as I go through labour and child birth. I am hopeful of a good outcome.
My wife is lactating, but she has inverted nipples and our baby seems too lazy to suck on them. He falls asleep before he puts any meaningful effort.

Need help with latching, have really sore nipples so the latch might be shallow
My baby has been super gassy and I think it has to do with his latch, he started clicking which means he’s swallowing more air. I think it may be due to a poor latch. He is 3weeks old. Only breastfed but gets 1-2 breast bottles a day. Do you take Molina insurance?

We are looking for a certified lactation consultant that supports our choice to both breast feed and bottle feed and also accepts Kaiser WA insurance . Our son was born (12/19/25) with a tongue tie and struggled to latch on the breast from the start. Since then, we have gotten the tongue tie released. He now is able to latch on the breast with a nipple shield, which I am hoping to not need. Our son also struggles with reflux and gas, and I am wondering if his latch has something to do with it.
