With more horror stories about U.S. hospital care coming up, I'm hoping to seek out the option for an at-home birth plan. I would prefer to be at home with my support system (my husband, and his support system will be two or three family members that we'd prefer to come and go as needed), where we can prevent as much time constraining interference as possible. I know it's not always possible to be at home, so here are some of the things I know are part of our plan: I do not wish to be coached through pushing, nor have unnecessary checks or sweeps done within my body, nor do I want my child to be removed from me and my husband without a severe medical emergency being posed. We wish for the umbilical cord to remain uncut until it turns white, and I do not want any assistance with my placenta removal unless it poses a major health risk. I also do not want my placenta being taken from me. I do not consent to my child having a screw sensor in her head, and I do not consent to being cut open for 'easier delivery'. I want my body to take its natural course as best as possible. That being said, if I am in the hospital, I may request an epidural, but I will have my mind right for being denied such, especially if I start labor at home and complications arise. Our birth plan is still being fine tuned, so we may have some additional preferences to add in the weeks to come. Currently, we are checking general pricing to come up with a plan, but I would like to say we would prefer a 2000 maximum, if possible.

I’m looking for a doula who can provide compassionate, informed support during labor and postpartum. Here’s a little more about my needs: • I’m interested in having a natural birth without an epidural. • I’d love to explore gentle pain relief options like nitrous oxide or other alternatives. • I’m curious about water birth but want to better understand the cost and feasibility. • This is my first baby, so I’d like guidance with labor preparation, emotional support, and help making informed decisions throughout the process. • I’m also considering combining breast milk and formula feeding, so postpartum support with feeding would be appreciated. • I’d like to know if you offer payment plans or sliding scale options as well. I’d love to schedule a consultation to learn more about your services, availability, and how you typically support clients in my area. Thank you so much for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Wanting someone to be in the hospital setting to coach me through my first birth and have someone there to advocate for me. I would ideally love to get as far as possible ( or the whole way ) without medication assistance through the use of positioning, breathing, or whirl pool tub help.

Megan is looking for Birth Doula, Midwife
Location: Garner, NC 27529, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: February 21, 2026
My dream is to have a home birth/ in a birthing center, but I know I do not want to give birth at a hospital. I’ve noticed that it can get pricy so I’m really hoping to keep it under $3,000 but I am open to hearing about higher pricing. I’m still very early on so I’m not 100% sure on my birth plan but I know that I want to a low to no intervention birth and I want to do delayed cord clamping. At this moment I am not open to vaccinations for my baby immediately after birth.
